NM. I was going to say that:

 

[a] The word 'larf' could easily be misunderstood

 

The idea of putting a first scorer in the post could be for the aforementioned 'larf.'

 

If it's an unofficial prediction league thingy, why's it not on these fourms? They are, after all, unofficial.

But it will all be allright next season. 2500 average attendance at Clarence Park and 250 competitors for the proper Prediction League on here. We don't have to actually DO anything to achieve those figures, t'lads did that when we murdered Bedford in May to secure the same position in the pyramid for next season as we were this.

 

Top 6 by Christmas, Champions by Easter.
