Ok, let's do this one again.....

 

I seem to remember the ESL Chairman mentioning something about an ESL Reserve League coming into being next season.

 

Seeing as it wasn't going to be quite as expensive as first believed is there any chance of having an ETFC Reserve side? We could go for an ESL League double!

In ETFC's first season, a reserve side was stated as one of the aims, but then costs were considered too high for the benefits. I assume this is still the case, but no doubt this question was raised when the ESL first announced the new Reserve League. At some stage, ETFC will surely consider the benefits to be greater than the costs.

whilst I am strong supporter of the idea of a reserve team; having come thru this fiasco, I would rather see the available funds go creating the strongest possible first team.

Won't having a reserve side help to do that?

 

It will mean that we can keep more players happy by offering them the chance to play.

 

Imagine Dave Allen did come back to ETFC (presume this is less likely now). Where would this have left Lee Digby? - Invariably he would find himself on the bench kicking his heels when all he wants to do is play football.

 

We'd have a larger squad of players and be able to keep everyone match fit.

It musr be worth loooking into as LC seems to be saying that the ground requirements and so on won't be very stringent.

 

No harm in finding out about it, surely?

I think the view of priorities is interesting here, and I know that the Committee has perhaps a different view to some supporters. Clearly something that deserves to be aired more fully.

 

For my part, I believe that there is an opportunity to raise funds/support a reserve side with resources that would otherwise not flow to the club.

 

Its not the only view, though.

Well hopefully when we finally find out when this meeting is that the board has mentioned it is a subject that can be raised. After all, the AGM will be too late as the season will have already started.

I understand there will be an EGM to present the facts re Ryman debacle, so why not raise it there.

An EGM can only discuss the matter for which it was called. This was clearly stated on another thread.

However I am sure the board would take the opportunity to discuss anything, as it is after all a supporters club.

They can't if the constitution forbids it.

They can discuss it before or after the EGM, because the constitution does not forbid that.

Also the constitution says nothing about the bar being open at an EGM, but bet it will be!
