Hodges to re-sign???

BFR

Recommended Posts

There is a story in the Express today saying that Hodgey looks set to sign a contract with the club when he comes back from holiday in a couple of weeks. If this proves to be the case then this is a real boost for next season and a pat on the back for Eddie and Roy for keeping him. Won't hold my breath just yet being the sceptic that I am, but this certainly appears to be a step in the right direction.

With the previous rummours that Ian was cautious about signing contracts, this would be great news and kick start our season knowing that we had a proven strike force.

The more continuity we can maintain over the summer the better we should do at the begining of the season, considering that most other teams have had changes and will need time to settle down.

Ian Hodges - Gold!

Would be great to keep him at the club if only for the adulation (is that a word?) he gets from the fans and how appreciated he is being a local (well, working and living local) lad these days. You can see how much it meant to him with every goal, challenge and chase he made this season and I'd love some more of that for a few more years please Hodgey!

...the dreaded 'couple of weeks' !!

Will be very good if he does sign - may well encourage more of the other players to stay put too.

[adulation - 'wild praise'/'excessive flattery' (Harrap's Mini)]

BFR - Can't see the story being a problem really. Anyone with any sense outside of STFC will have seen a forward hitting 36 goals in the league and made enquiries regardless of this story.

Can't see him leaving us for anyone outside of League football (League 2 (old Division 3) and above) personally, and obviously, really hope he stays so we can finally have some continuity and be able to build on the back end of last seasons form.

Becasue there are some very clever people out there who work in marketing who realise that people who work for the football league are foolish and gullible and so can squeeze large sums of money from then to do absolutely nothing at all - a bit like me with my employers!
