More news!! AT LAST!! [No.147]

While queuing in the newsagents for my copy of the Panini Euro 2004 sticker album, I glanced at the back page of the St Albans Observer.

The Worms trip is confirmed. The District Council have given a grant of £250 towards the costs. [i'm writing to my District Councillor complimenting this fine use of Council Tax money but suggesting that it should be increased to £250 per head.]

Steve Castle is quoted at some length. "It's a little early for pre-season preparations to be perfectly honest but t'lads are up for the trip. We are approaching the game as a reward to last season's team for gaining a place in the new Conference South set-up. We will be giving Worms the respect they deserve. It's a game of two halves etc. etc."

Player news? Well, the Manager is, again, quoted at some length. "......Budget constraints which is a movable feast [i think he means the budget is a movable feast rather than the constraints are a movable feast]..... The Chairman has been as good as gold, to be fair..... We are looking at a lot of local talent from St Albans and Hertfordshire for next season...... Two local lads who caught my eye last season were Greg Deacon and Chris Seeby and I hope to tie something up with them soon.....Some will come, some will go."

Err.....That's it.
