The Polecats were a seminal sixties garage band from the Isle Of Man who were directly inspired to form a band on a chance meeting with the legendary Andy Warhol. I'd highly recommend their debut album ' The Polecats Are Killing Music (Though It's Legal)'

They were also a rockabilly band in the mid 80s who did a version of Bowie's John I'm only dancing amongst others. Ok, but preferred the Stray Cats and King Kurt myself.

He still goes out with them when they do tours!!!!!!!

Their debut single "Keith And Me Was In 'Nam" was banned all over Europe and America for references to 'smoking-puss', a bizarre form of drug use involving skinning a cat, and then burning its coat until it turns into a fine powder which you then snort. The effects are very similar to opium, so I understand.

 

Even more strangely, the single was not banned in Hungary.

Some sense on this thread at last.

 

Can't remember if a polecat is a domesticated ferret, or the reverse.

 

The reverse, I think.

 

I wonder if the band in question smells as bad as a male ferret/polecat ?

LOL!!!!!! My biological dad used to have a ferret called Lucy, but my mum made him get rid of it when i was a baby!!!!!!!

 

He didn't want to and chose the ferret over me!!!! C**T!!!!!
