So, what's happening with those ETFC players who were lured back with the promise of Ryman football?

 

The way I see it is that players should want to play for ETFC first and foremost and should not have to be swayed by 'ryman football'. It will say alot about those players if they now do a u-turn.(They may also regret it in a season's time should Ilford not gain promotion as their ground once again isn't ready or their results haven't been good enough!).

Its very nice and cosy to see players coming onto this forum and saying they will stick it out and they have spoken to jim and it all going to be ok.

 

But thats going to happen when you are paying the money you are and wether you call it expences or not the players at ETFC are being paid.

 

Money rules and you told players they had Ryman Football next season and they were going to get more money so they al said yes boss we will stay we ove it here we love playing in a dump like this dont worry about the money.

 

come off it you will be telling us next jim is doing the job for nothing, having said that it night be true no one would pay him at another club having faile to get promotion three years in a row.

We did't say they were not getting paid,hopefully for the last time, just expenses.

Jim Chandler put a team together from scratch and finished second in the first season-not a failier.

The second season his team won the title,but off field matters stopped promotion NOT Jim.

The third season was a slight disappointment but after TWO seasons of league success a slight dip was only a dip and Jim WILL take us out of it and upwards.

Here`s to our forth season and the high level which Jim has now got us expecting and will deliver.

I hope the refernce in the artivcle on the back page of the Gazette about a player movement (or non-movement) is not correct.

 

I would be disappointed if it was true, both in the fact and in the man.

If it says what I think it says then I think it could be a blessing in disguise as far as ETFC are concerned.

It suggested that a player who left the club last season and who, it was reported, was going to rejoin the club, has decided to stay with the club that he moved to.

 

That club will not be in the ESL next season. although until this week it was thought that it would.

In that case I think we can do without players who have no loyalty to any club. He can only be in it for the money as ETFC offer much bigger crowds and, I would venture to say, a far better playing surface by the start of next season.

 

I believe our other option in that position is a much better prospect at any rate.

I think anyone playing football in the ESL or Ryman 2 should want to play for ETFC (unless they have a close association with another club). We are without a doubt the best-supported club at this level with probably the most experienced management team and the brightest prospects.

 

If the money is the key motivation to play football at this level then I think ETFC is probably not the place for you.

 

Most ETFC players could play at a higher level but choose not to - they're the players we want at our club.
