Saw him last night and thought he was pretty good.

 

The music was really good, but the only gripe is I am not sure Coxon is a great front man. All in all though, good gig.

Did he mainly do his new album, or was there a bit of his earlier solo stuff in there too??

No, but the highlights for me were 'Revolver', 'Bitter Tears', 'Bitterswet Bundle of Misery' and 'Freakin' Out'. As I say the fact he didn't come over all charismatic didn't stop him from playing out an impressive set.

 

It was mainly the new stuff with a couple of oldies, definately no coffee and tv though. I would say it sounded a bit rockier than I expected him to, oh and his backing guitarist looks like Kurt Cobain, though obviously not dead!

An old schoolfriend of mine sings on a couple of tracks on the album, and I feared I may get a spot of the old green-eyed monster if she were up on stage with him tonight!!

Very good gig, I thought. Man, there was some energy on that stage.

 

He played more stuff from his earlier albums than I expected him to which was good.

 

Pretty much agree about the highlights - Bitter Tears and Bittersweet Bundle Of Misery sounded great. I Wish from the first album and It Ain't No Lie from The Kiss Of Morning were also quality.

 

And yes. That really was Kurt Cobain, wasn't it!?

I can't remember that, but every time I hear 'Reach for My Revolver' it reminds me of something by The Clash and it's a good song too, though I've probably got the wrong title!

Couldn't believe he did 5 albums seperately from Blur, that's quite an acheivement.

Some achievement, and in my opinion, albums 1 & 4 are every bit as good as anything Blur have done.

 

Having heard the garbage that is Think Tank, it becomes quite obvious where the genius in Blur lay.

I´m presuming that Ginger keyboard player was Angie who went to Marlborough. Ross the hairdresser by the Crown had a bit of a thing for her I seem to remember, she was very attractive!

Yeah, she was okay, but she wasn't even the fittest girl in our music class. And our music class only had four girls!!
