Pre-season friendlies

Have you seen how many are lined up? Looks like we have 2 a week starting from early/mid July. That says only one thing to me, that we are going to have several of new players to bed in.

 

Anyone heard any rumours?

I think a couple of tall players with a lot of speed that can play on either the left and/or the right would be a good start.

 

Does not having a No. 1 mean we're getting another Goalkeeper or is that reserved for if ever Southall has to play for us? <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Perhaps both the 17 and 21 were requested by both players, I'm sure one of them would've wanted to be No. 1 though.

 

But I think our main priority for signing players is their pace and height. I think we already have the strength in Dobbo, Benno, Gregory, etc. but we don't have some super fast players in our Squad anymore than can outrun defenders by a yard or two.

 

I suppose some young ones from the likes of Ipswich, Charlton, West Ham, Tottenham etc. might be interested to play even if we only sign an established young player on loan for the season. That to me is what seems to have kept the lesser teams up in the Premiership, the likes of Birmingham have Forssell and Pompey have Smertin etc so seeing as we're in for a tough ol' season like they were, maybe that would seem a good option. Any chance of getting the likes Carlton Cole or Joe Keenan from Chelsea? <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

West Ham might be releasing a few after Saturday. and I hear Chelsea have a few to off-load.
