What a joke..

I can't see why any group of people who join together to support their football team, whatever the history or baggage they carry, should be considered a joke. At the moment any support that can be drummed up can only help the club.

I am my own individual supporter, so have no axe to grind, but I say bring 'em on.

But how many 'NEW' supporters will the new association bring in, or will people from the other two just join that one. i've never been part of an SA, i feel that i can voice my opinions quite well by myself, and the price of Tea doesnt bother me in the slightest... cos my Dad always buys them! isnt the SA supposed to be headed by or started by someone not associated with the club, i thought this one had been. we can't put all our eggs in one basket so to speak.

Mr Veaney, I assume you're a member of the Dave Cox gang / supporters club. Just the mention of his name shows which merry band of supporters are the real joke. Surely the supporters club that's not officially recognised by the club is the one that's the joke - ie you and your teenage chums with big Dave Cox in charge.

Here here margate fan. All that stuff soured last season so much so that gate diehards were fighting themselves at the cup final> a disgrace. Glad for once i sat in the stand. <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

If we are going to build a decent fan base for this club we have got to remove ourselves from that sort of thing.

We need to encourage younger people, families, all kinds of other people from all sorts of backgrounds, women too, they are all under represented and we need to get them to the ground every week we play. And we need to make their first visit pleasurable so they come back again and again.

One of the reasons I started to attend and warmed to football at this level was that it lacked the more threatening and intimidating atmosphere to be found at higher league games. It has an intimacy and a friendliness and a sporting spirit that is second to none, that's the football that I want to be a part of.
