THE FUTURE

The club will has lost a good number of fans by giving them false hopes over the previous seasons.

Realistically, next season, the best we can hope for is staying in Conference South and returning to Hartsdown by the end of the season. Even if we were to be in a promotion position we would be unable to re-enter the Conference because the ground would not meet the criteria.

It is wrong and ultimately counterproductive to give fans false hopes. We have had far too many in the past.

As a Bishop's Stortford fan who saw more than half of the new Conference South teams this past season, it looks like you'll notice the change in football quality. If you can hang on to your players, you should do well. If you have to have a clear out to balance the budget, who knows what will happen ? I hope it all works out OK for you and look forward to your visit next season.

THANK YOU LEGEND.I honestly cannot say more .But it is possible to work out what I am getting at if you read certain financial sections in certain papers and see what a world of financial s**t a couple of Nationwide clubs are in.!!!!!

[color:"blue"]Given the worst case scenario for other Conference Clubs(ie: Farnboro' fold etc.) - the question is, Newsboy, can we afford to stay in the Conference?

The past two seasons have been financially draining on the Club and a seasons groundshare would cost another £500k. We would have one of the lowest playing budgets in the League (doesn't the wage capping rule based on recent turnover come into effect?).

Dover are not expecting us next season and are planning to use the Crabble for 1st/Reserve teams + Ladies team. And if we did go there you can expect to see them increase the ground fees and also see our attendances falling below those of Leigh.

I'd say we're right to enter a re-grouping period where we're stepping down a division in order to rebuild resources, the team and the fanbase and shouldn't accept a get-out-of-jail-card until we've rebuilt!

Mentioning wage capping - there is a bit of a let out at the bottom end there is quite wide banding on an up to basis.

However, I still think we are going into Administration.

I won't be holding my breath.

It is very very unlikely we will be a conf national side next year.

Sad but true. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I apologise unreservedly for mis leadihg you.I heard it on good authority from some one connected to the Conference.that a couple of clybs this week would not be able to carry on .Both apparrently are in the Football League>the knock on effect would result in Margate retaining there place in the Conference National/I have not heard anything from theAGM /so presumably this has not happened. I could have kept quiet and said nothing but I think it is only right I come on and try to justify my statements/There was a bit in the papers on Monday about this .But it is only right I apologise and tis I have done!!!!!!!
