Blast from the EFC past

Recommended Posts

Thought it was only played for every thousand years.

Who are the current holders of the year 2000 title?

Previous holders, I believe, have been the Normandie Nackerers captained by William who beat the Saxon Southerners captained by Harold in the year 1000 final(1066 actually) and before I believe that it was the Macedonian Marauders captained by Alexander who beat the Persian Predators captained by Darius in the year 0 (or thereabouts) final.

Before that you're on your own. My memory plays tricks with me.

The Essex Senior League regularly goes beyond its borders, but the various Middlesex cups stick to the traditional boundaries.

All clubs within the HISTORIC boundaries of Middlesex were eligible to participate in the Middlesex Millennium Cup. Potters Bar is within these historic boundaries which also stretch out to the Chilterns, hence Beaconsfield's participation.

The Middlesex cups do not stick to what you think are traditional boundaries but stick to those clubs that affiliate as either primary or secondary members of the Middlesex FA, something which every club within the historic boundary is entitled to do. Clapton, for example, are regular entrants in Middlesex County Cup competitions as well as ourselves.
