Team for coming season

Has anyone tried selecting a Fleet team from the current squad,the midfield is a difficult one,with a few permutations possible,and there will (hopefully) be one or two additions in the coming weeks,so injuries permitting Andy should have a talented bunch to choose from,yeah you could say i'm optimistic.

Well, on the current crop of players, how about:

 

Wilkerson, Gledhill, Skinner, Moore, Shearer, Protheroe, Saunders, Drury, McKimm, Essandoh, Omoyinmi Subs: Mitten, Jackson, Porter, Pinnock, Sidibe.

 

And it pains me to leave Jacko and Sidibe out. That also leaves no place in the squad for Duku, Lee, Rouse and whoever else we sign! Have I missed anyone...?

Prob go with you Stu M. But have to see how Saundo settles in. Not bothered bout Jacko. But pains me over Sidibe. Just shows wot an excellent squad we now have compared to this time last year.

I'd probably have Sidebe on the right and Protheroe at right back with Gledhill on the bench.

I would add Pinnock to the list of unlucky not to start as well.

There is no obvious 1st 11, which shows what a good position we are in compared with last season, especially as Andy says he has made offers to 3 further players. I can remember so many times when I used to tell other people, "we can hold our own with any team in the league, if we can get our best 11 players on the pitch; it's the players we have to bring in, who aren't really up to scratch."

 

Even with an incomplete squad, we have quite a number of decent permutations, all of which involve leaving out an "obvious" 1st choice. So, the 1st team that comes to my mind leaves out Gledhill, Pinnock & Drury.

Great for the fans, but unless there's a few injuries, and with a few more additions, how's Andy Ford going to keep that array of talent happy week after week!! I would think only Roy Essendoh, and maybe Moore would be guaranteed a start

Agreed, which is why another target man upfront and centre back are needed, as well as a goalscoring midfielder, me? greedy? bloody right wev'e lived off scraps since wev'e been back in the Conference,now let's hit the ground running.

With Sidibe now settled in, and Drury with a seasons experience under his belt, I would expect these two to score their fair share of goals next season.

I think Rouse was a good player, as he has only played a handul of games, i remember him playing at dag and red were he played well. Is he still actually with us?

Wilkerson is a fantastic keeper. Ranks alongside Keith Hepple. Wish he would loose just a few pounds though. Gonna have to see some rotation perhaps.

A somewhat defensive line-up I know, especially with Shearer playing as a sweeper, but it would certainly stop some of the goals that were 'leaked' particularly early on last season.

Yes - he signed for next season a couple of weeks ago.

As for next season's team, I haven't a clue what my preferred one is - but that is of course a good thing, with the competition for places we look like having this coming season.
