In all honesty, I actually don't know a great deal about them.

I looked at the tv schedule, and I can't see any other slot which the BNP have for their broadcast. The Tories have several slots on different channel, some at peak times.

 

I dunno how this tv broadcasting thingy works, but I wondered if the "establishment" would only give the BNP this late time slot.

 

If that is the case, then it's bloody obvious that their is no such thing as free speech or liberal democracy in this country.

 

But as if we needed the above example to reiterate it!

Hi Mal.

 

I think you will find that the various political parties are allocated time slots for party political broadcasts on the T.V. in some proportion to the number of seats, or possibly votes, that they obtained at the last election.

 

Hence we will see a lot more of the lunatic and his mob than we will of, say the BNP or that lot that float abve the ground.

 

I don't know what the rules are concerning the times of the broadcasts, however.

You need to have a certain number of candidates standing then you can show one!

So if EFM had that number we could start a propaganda war!

 

I'm not sure if the parties have to pay for the broadcast, that might explain the "dead time", either that or the party is hoping that loads of angry pissed people will be returning from the pub in time to get all irrational.

 

Anyway the BNP have loads of peak time broadcasts, they just market it under their other guise .... the Tory pary <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thought there must have been some explanation as to why they only had one slot tonight....but like you say, the late showing is somewhat "unnaccountable".
