That the football season was over? Well it is now....

 

What with the 1st team trials on Saturday, The Ladies Team celebrations Saturday night (boy, do those girls party), Youth Team trails Sunday Morning, the Ladies last game of the season yesterday (beat Brentwood 5-1 - A top performance) and the Trophy Final as well yesterday, it's been a top football weekend.

 

Of the trials, the turn out was excellant with players from Southend United, Leyton O's and Rushden and Diamonds amoungst the players that pitched up. I believe that there are about 10 players that Justin wishes to look at again and work with but watch this space for developments.

 

Ladies Awards Celebrations - What a nite and can these girls party!!! There is another thread just for this but surfice to say a very enjoyable nite. As we're all one club, it would be nice if more of "us" could make it a real celebration next season and get more of us down there. I promise you, you won't be disapointed (even had some of the girls "air guitaring" to Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer...Excellent <img src="/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" />).

 

I wasn't at the Youth Team trails (hey, come on, gotta have a morning off somewhere) but I'm told, the players that turned up were of an excellant quality and have given the manager a headache as to who to choose!!!

 

Ladies, I doff my hat at ya. A 5 -1 drubbing of Breantwood and some quality football being played, despite the hang overs!!! See the Ladies web site for more about that game.

 

And then the Trophy final. I had the pleasure to watch it in the club house with Steve and Rob Mason. The right result I thought but whatever, it put the F A Cup Final to shame!!! Cheers to Steve for that!!!
