Time is a healer

Its only a few days since our fate was 'sealed',and i think the morose reality of losing our beloved conference set in amongst most of us.

Personally ,just beginning to pick myself up;and see things a bit brighter. Not because i expect promotion next year, but maybe a bit of stability ,ready for promotion in 05/06, will help the club.

With the turnover rule(not that Telford or anyone else took any notice);we would struggle financially to survive and pay conference wages next year;so perhaps we have taken the pain this year, rather than relegation or even financial collapse halfway through the season(remember christmas last year).

Maybe CK will stay and become a hero

It looks at least as though survival is on the cards(though i am also expecting a few 'shocks 'and bad news yet still to come(just a personal view).

Maybe a newish team will make life interesting .

Maybe we will not be quite so defensive.

Maybe we will uncover the equivalent of Lee Boylen and get everyone talking about Margate for the right reason.

Maybe on national forums we can be reasonably poular and not disliked-i think there is some sympathy to Margate now-the club and supporters should cultivate that

Maybe Dover and Margate supporters can be rivals and not enemies. In the end it went belly up for us both.

Maybe Gravesend do not gloat too much.

Maybe this Christmas we do the double over Welling(and don't gloat too much)

Maybe if we play at Ashford(or Dover)we can win friends from Director level to supporter level and pay the bills on time.

Maybe we can cultivate more support and media space from the I of T Gazette

Maybe the club can keep supporters informed,be honest about timimgs and possibilities from now on, and slowly improve quality of the website.

maybe there can be one supporters club only.

Maybe a proper Supporters Trust can be formed; rather than a knee jerk reaction that fizzles out.

Maybe we can have a reasonable standard of football programme.

Maybe more people will join in on te forum ,and the content can be MFC on pitch football matters .

Maybe, just maybe, we may have an FA CUp and FA Trophy run (maybe we will win the Trophy)(maybe we will get to 3rd round of FA CUp and draw Chelsea away)

ANY OTHER REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

(deliberately not added the ground as personal view is that is still 12 months away)

Michael' that must have taken you at least a week to work all them maybe's out and then post it. Well done for your endeavour. Now having digested all your "MAYBE'S" maybe we can all get some sleep and MAYBE You will become more positive in the future. What a miserable post you made there. Really cheers people up hearing those comments. Comments that we all know of already. So have you got any-more things to rub our noses in or MAYBE thats all you have to say. If so then thank goodness. Bet you toss and turn everynight in bed dont you, but then MAYBE you don't.

Cheers Tony,

It was meant to be optimistic actually,(hence title-Time is a healer and invitations to post other reason s to be cheerful) having persomnally spent 72 hours in deep depression and come out the other side.

Like John Kirkby's post, i too want to go to Carlisle and York and not Bognor.

Those maybe's are just the start;and can all be achieved.

What club needs is strong off-field leadership-someone to take up the reins.

Very well put , the only change i would make is to use the word WILL. We WILL acomplish all your dreams and we Will play Carlisle/ York if not in the Conference then in the Football league. MARGATE FC can make it happen. so come on guys dont bury (why not play them as well)your heads ostrich style, keep them high, be MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGATE bePROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUD. we will be here at a new HARTSDOWN when that northdown shop keeper and cronies are being used to push up the daisies in the cemetary. long gone and only remembered with bile.

I was advocating that we need off field dynamic leadership.

Since JP left we have not had a Chief Exec style figurehead.

Ok everyone may not like them, but all companies need leadership.

KP seems to be resolving the ground issues, so now that CK has pledged himself to the club, why not appoin t him CEO aswell(can probably manage conf south with his eyes closed)so give him a wider role.

His loyalty deserves iconic status.

The press will love him.

CK could be the figurehead the club needs with KP behind the scenes getting the ground resolved.

Whats good for Barbara Cassani and Seb Coe is good for MFC.

(why can't the beach volleyball at the olmypic bid be held in Margates new ground)
