The first bulldozers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the first bulldozers roll before End of June we will keep at least 6 players and attract more. If no show and more delays before August i fear the slide of players will continue,

Agree Geoff. Although in a different mode it is still very much same, as like others say, until those workers and their machines actually start doing some work it is still stalemate as far as I am concerned. Need some action for once. Seeing is believing.

Funny how that now the time limit has exceeded we now seem to be able to build. Its all been a waiting game and now you will see that the council will agree to anything. They have got their way.A watered down football ground that probably fits in with their residents wishes who live round there.Well once we build the ground up we will be back to start all over again in the upgrading only this time our ground will be in tact and the refusal of the council then will not be so easy to do.Who, by the way is going to pay for this though without getting a return for their money. If this IS going to happen then it could have happened months ago.The time has run out and that has been the councils target. So long as things are not on a grand scale as previously wanted I think now that the council will oblige in almost anything for this club.We will be back stronger and more succesful than ever and the council and their residents have merely delayed the inevitable. Our club has survived and will succeed more so than before. The roots are to be laid again and from those roots a flowering and flourishing margate f.c. will re-emerge.Bigger and even better than before.Theres no doubt of that in my mind.

I second those words but it will come back to haunt him cos' we will be re-applying in a year or two I'm sure and then he will not have a hidden agenda. Mind you will he be there in two years time? If there is any justice in this world then he wont.

I,m normally the optimistic one, but why the sudden confidence that we will start building?

Whats changed.

I thought we always and still do need go-ahead for coommercial project as the developers are funding the ground.

Personally i think ground will get built but not finished until summer 2005, and thus in unlikely event we do ok, we could not get promoted anyway.

I have a horrible feling that we will be disappointed with what the final 'stadium' looks like, since there must be every incentive for the developer to downgrade as much as pssible

Sound like ground will be downgraded that much that we will always be stuck with a ground that is not up to conference standards(possibly not even conf south standard)and thus we will never get back up to conference national again.

Sadly, i think MFC has peaked in terms of achievement.

It was great while it lasted.

While we are still remenicsing, wouldnt it be nice if we could just have some positive news for once, I as no doubt others do look at our club websites all the time and am always impressed how the website is used to INFORM supporters of all that is happening at their club. What do we get from our Board of Directors "diddly squat" thats what, articles are released to the press before the website and in most occasions not to the website at all, this cannot be right. As far as the ground is concerned I am amazed at your confidence Cookie, then and now and just hope that you are and were right, because until our ground is improved we have no realistic chance of promotion but perhaps the Board know that and are happy with the existence of MFC in the Ryman League.

Hi Tom.I think you are looking at some confidence I had 4 years ago. Since then we haven't progressed at all really inside the ground. I'm as pissed of as most others are with the lack of info & movement.Everytime I speak to our Chairman he says things are going along smoothly & in the close season we will see things begin, starting with the stand down at the far end. I'm beginning to doubt ANYTHING will happen despite his assurances.

My confidence has waned since 4 years ago.

The club SHOULD be putting out an update,at the least, even if it is a fib to shut us up.No doubt thats what it would be! Sorry Margate FC but thats how I'm seeing things 4 years down the line.

Even Ramsgate might have stands up before we do as they are planning to erect close season. Now wouldn't that be the worst ever insult to us ever if that should happen, after all this time.

Oh yes!! I forgot about that. Thats real progress isnt it. I stand corrected there! mad

I feel sorry for the players having to bunch together in those porto cabins every week. How cramped must that be?
