The Members of Margate Football Club Ltd, at an EGM called specifically to determine the immediate future of the Club, voted by overwhelming majority in favour of proposed option D.

Members were keen to see their Football Club return to Hartsdown Park and were prepared to concede Full Conference Status in order to do so.

The view of the Members was then referred to the Club Directors, who ratified the view of the Members, thus confirming that Margate Football club will accept demotion to Conference South returning to Hartsdown Park before that turn of the year.

Further information will be available as developments about the Club are finalised.

Margate Football club has confirmed that it’s application to the Nationwide Conference for a further groundshare next Season has been rejected by the Conference Board of Directors.

The Club must now consider all of it’s options and in this regard the Directors have issued notice calling an EGM of the Company to obtain the views of their members.

Options open for consideration by the Directors are as follows:

A) Appeal against decision taken by Football Conference not to allow extended groundshare with Dover Athletic FC in order to retain Football Conference status

B) The formal application for a longer groundshare period with Dover Athletic FC

C) Accept demotion to the Conference South and groundshare with Dover Athletic FC or Ashford Town FC for a further period

D) Accept demotion to the Conference South and return to Hartsdown Park in a reduced facility Stadium

Directors confirm that as soon as the Club’s members indicate which of the options they support the Club will move to call a public meeting of supporters and will invite Thanet District Council to attend.
