And that accounted for the best part of eighty games???? There are two local Sunday morning mens leagues, which accounts for six games, so seventy youth games were held on the pitch throughout the season?

Having said that, credit where it's due. To have had a match on it every week, it held out very well until the Bracknell B&B Cup match (the postponed one).

I'm sure Lionel would have done just as good a job though!

Remember on the youth cup days there would of been a number of games played on the pitch. I can't remember the exact number but Chels is indeed very close. I remember seeing it in the paper.

This 'our' ground thing... It is OUR as in Windsors ground. You are a tenant. We are the landlords. Now i don;t know the ins and outs of renting but The landlord gets the final say he what improvements to make and if the tenant doesn't like it they can lump it.

As for Chels...Don't use insults...it'll just get them on their high horse...Just give it to them as it is...They are homeless beggers and we could of been the person walking past them and not giving them a helping hand but we picked them up out of the gutter and helped them have a mildly succesfull season.

I hope you do know this does get read but alot of Windsor people and we are getting annoyed at you. Talk about your team but yes the ground is a raw nerve so don't go on about it the way you do.

See you on Boxing day

Why shouldn't we go on about the ground though Woody? We're only suggesting improvements as fans and the covering behind both ends behind the goals would make it a vastly improves stadium. If your chairman, the esteemed Mr Simpson, wants to improve the meagre attendances of last season as he has publically stated in the local press(and for where you were in the league, your attendances, with all due respect, were awful) the ground could do with some improvements. By adding the covering behind either end, a better atmposphere can be created by the support of the Windsor fans which in turn can keep fans coming back to Stag Meadow.

I don't think anyone disputes it is your ground in the slightest, and how come the people at Windsor are becoming fed up? We paid our money for the rent, we'll pay it again next season (presuming we're staying, nothing to suggest otherwise), we've helped out around the ground, we'll probably have a few people around during the summer helping out with bits and pieces at Stag Meadow as well and we're putting a lot of money into the club through the tea bar and through the main bar as well. Ot's a win-win situation for Windsor, the only downside being the amount of matches being played on the pitch. So if you'd care to expand on this point about Windsor people becoming upset, I'd be happy to hear it as it's not the first time it's been made in passing with no further comment about what exactly, beyond passing on comments about improving the ground, we're doing to upset them.

O.K. so if you move into a rented house with a landlord, how do you refer to it when talking to your mates. 'Anyone coming back to MINE', 'I'm going HOME now', 'Party at OUR house on Saturday'. Yes, it is Windsor's ground but while we share it with you and pay the rent for the ground it is also Slough's (OUR) ground.

Well, they may have a ground going spare soon!

But on the question of the strength of clubs not just on the field but in terms of ground finance, infrastructure and support, would W&E have taken the challenge, if they had won the league, to go up, or would they have done a Hendon? Similarly, would we have been able to take the challenge if we had won it?

It will be interesting to see what atarts to shake out when the financial and ground criteria start to click into the new structure, over the next few seasons and how many of the new conference leagues can survive in the future, particularly if success means teams going full time, even at this level.

i have been told the ground is not good enough for the conference south. you will need to put another 50 (i think) seats in the ground and to make MAJOR improvements which will take at least 6 months!

How is it not good enough for the Connie South though in comparison to Maidenhead? If anything, the grounds are very similar (won't mention the covered terracing behind both goals at Maidenhead...) and if anything Windsor has more seats than Maidenhead?? Should the Magpies be worried?

The Ground Criteria for season 2004/2005 membership of Conference North or Conference South is the criteria currently in place for membership of the Isthmian Football League, Northern Premier League, and Southern Football League Premier Divisions. The Grading Document “Category B” is the ground grading membership requirement for all Member Clubs of Conference North and Conference South which must be achieved by 1stApril 2005.

But for the coming year all premier league teams had to apply to be in the conference N/S by august 2003. Div 1 winners by 1st Feb

No problem with Wexham Park and Conference South - just a shame were not in Conference South and not at Wexham Park?

Maybe it's worth getting the supporters trust to ask Mr Deaner about our chances of returning to Wexham Park next season. I seem to remember him saying if enough people wanted us to go back he'd see what he could do.

Might be worth a try?

As Chris says in the strip bars, I'll try anything once....

I would suggest the best person to speak with Martyn regarding this in the interim of the election of the trust board is Chris Sliski. I think it is something that we all want to happen whilst the details of this new ground are sorted out, but to be honest, with the history between the two parties I can't see it happening.

That said, if there is anything we can do as a fan base to help the temporary move back to WP, then I'll be up for it.

Let's face it, how many of our 320-ish regular fans would want to stay at Stag Meadow if Wexham Park was available, given the choice?

Back at WP, we'd get our crowds back to nearer 400 like they were before, and conceivably nearer to our old Ryman Premier crowds seeing as we're now in a 'better' league.

Re Wexham Park.... of course we would all like to see a return to Wexham Park...we need to speak with Byron on this ...I will on behalf of the STST try to re establish contact and see what arrangement we can come up with....

HOWEVER ....

If a return is to be made to Wexham Park...

all our supporters will have to roll up your sleves as it need some TLC and Paint ...

It will take a good 4 weeks of solid hard work to do repairs and weeding and painting.

The site needs a good clean up ... so its not just lets move back.... and with Bryon's co operation maybe we can start the ball rolling...

Also ....match days we will require people to help with all sorts of help....

but firstly lets see if we can re establish a contact....

cheers chris <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

As for our ground being good enough for Conference North / South, yes it is, for the first couple of seasons.

I have heard that clubs have three years to get their grounds to the recommended level.

We would need new floodlights, more seats, crush barriers, concrete or metal fencing and I think bigger changing rooms.

As for who's ground it is, well it actually belongs to Her Majesty and we are the primary residents. As for Slough they are lodging with us.

Slough supporters can make as many suggestions as they like for improvements as so far they all sound like good ones, but what they need to remember is that it isn't just about putting coverage at each end of the ground. We need planning permission to do this and that takes time and money. I personaly would love to see coverage behind each goal, but we will just have to wait!!
