Conference U19 League

Think someone mentioned this before but given the resources, this sounds like a good idea to me.

 

I'd hate to see players of the quality of Cogger, Atkinson, Attwood, Jones, Smith (x2), Riley etc walk away from this club to join someone else.

 

The Reserves managed to fund themselves last season so why not. Get Kev and Vince back in (humble pie all round) and we can start producing a few more Deacons and Seebys in a couple of seasons time.

We will be entering the U19 Conference Youth League but it is a replacement for the PASE League which is no more. We have already held one trial with around 25 possible students attending and we have another planned for later in the summer. Like the PASE League, matches will be on Wednesday afternoons.

It would be my guess, Rob, that after what happened, Kevin and Vince wouldn't want to come back too soon. Unfortunately.

Sorry Webbo, but I am a little confused.

 

Firstly, I believe that we have the 'Mid-week Youth' team that plays on Wednesday evenings and that is to continue next season.

 

Secondly, this [last] season there has been the PASE team which plays on Wednesday afternoons, the playing record of which was the subject of a short thread on here a couple of months ago. That team is only open to students on the PASE scheme, I believe.

 

Thirdly, the Reserve side which played, for the most part on Saturday afternoons this last season in the Essex and Herts and Bordering Counties somethingorother League will not play next season. I understand that the intention is to enter a Reserve team in the Capital League which plays on Wednesday evenings.

 

[As an aside, I noticed that Stevenage won that League this last season but they enter their U19 side, allegedly. There is a thread on the Urchins board which refers to Hornchurch playing 4 no. 15 year olds in its final match of the season.]

 

Now, Webbo. Rob refered to a Conference U19 League. You said that "we", and by that I assume that you mean The Mighty Saints, are to enter a side in the U19 Conference League. Is that the same one to which Rob referred? And it plays on Wednesday afternoons? And it's only open to students on the PASE scheme?
