Let's get it straight - I have the greatest of respect for Ilford and Enfield Town and they are more than welcome to continue in the ESL . I do not have any respect for persons who flought ready made rules for their own gain. What is the point of rules (a la Pyramid) that are supposed to protect leagues from sideways moves (unless its in exchange) being changed midway through a season without proper discussion and consultation. Could folk please put thoughts of their own clubs ambitions aside and think what damage has been done to the structure of the ESL and South Midlands League if the league "inviting" our club is allowed to get away with it - anarchy set's in when rule books are thrown up in the air. We shall await tomorrow's decision but I will not let this go without a fight as long as I am Chairman of the ESL. I have never been so appalled at the events of the past few weeks and you have all been saying your own bits and pieces ... so there is mine !!!

I completely agree with your stance, Mr Chairman. The whole restructuring fiasco has been farcical from the beginning.

Restructure - yes, the game needed it, with a proper pyramid and defined routes up (and down), and sensible geographical allocation of clubs to leagues at all levels (how much more logical can you get than County Leagues???).

BUT - it all should have been discussed openly and a logical and arrangement agreed BEFORE the start of the last season of the old regime. Surely that was not rocket science!

However, it is not only clubs that will put their own interet first - as has been seen, leagues will fight their own corner too. Therefore a strong but fair-minded national association SHOULD HAVE heard all the arguments and points of view and then made a decision.
