I've just remembered something. 'Diet', in this sense, probably has a Latin origin, too. It could be from 'dieta' meaning 'days work'.

 

Perhaps they all spoke Latin there before changing to German later.

What do you mean "thrown out of the country"? They tried that 60 years ago and couldn't succeed then.

 

What's this about a Gulls tour of Spain?

 

Is Graham Roberts involved? He does Soccer Schools in Spain, allegedly, although I am convinced that there is something strange about that whole affair. Flying in from Spain twice each week? Chauffeur driven limo at Stansted? Suite at the Braintree Hilton? I mean, this is Braintree F.C. It's not exactly Earls Park, is it? There's more to that affaur than meets the eye, methinks.

 

I've been trying to get details of the Soccer Schools from Mark (Flag) Braintree but he keeps ignoring the question. I think that there is some kind of 'security black-out' imposed on any discussion about the former Iron Supremo by the powers that be at Cressing Road. I imagine that it's a Schedule D Notice and Mark is Head Honcho in the Supporters Club, after all.

I was spreading the good word about the mighty Gulls when I visited Barcelona last year. Turned up at the Nou Camp wearing my Canvey shirt. They were so impressed they instantly wanted a friendly!!
