I have heard about saints in a pre-season friendly against a german side away, how true is this and what date would would it be played on if it goes ahead?

I'm not a betting man but if I were, I would wager a shilling that the club is exploring the possibility of having preliminary discussions to consider the advantages and disadvantages, politically, logistically, structurally and financially, of a pre-season match against the German town what St Albans is twinned with. Over there.

If the matter is taken further, I imagine that it would be their 1st team rather than their U12s.

The name is of Celtic origin: Borbetomagus meant "settlement in a watery area". This was probably transformed into the Latin name Wormatia that had been in use since the 6th century.
