If Ilford and ETFC are not allowed into ryman 2

Recommended Posts

June 7th - AGM and I confirm that NO ONE has resigned from the League as I write and I must add , we do not want anyone to leave , ALL clubs are truly welcome to go with us in 2004... and if you want a reserve side as well, just say the word as we still intend to run a Reserve Division... Keep the faith folks !!!!

Yes, 2004 -2005 ! we have posted all clubs the additions to our rule book which bring us back to the days that we had a reserve division. There will be a League Trophy,( Its a beauty ! ) League Cup and a Reserve Shield and some clubs who dropped their 2nd teams in recent years have intimated their interest. It may not be necessary to play on a "Senior" pitch, an "Intermediate" will do, (though I emphasise that the FA no longer want to retain those designations) so long as we KNOW AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON what pitch the team will play on and we do not expect that to be changed. The F A advocate football for all and we want to accomodate that in Essex and its borders. Keep the Faith !

The Essex Intermediate League have their own Reserve Section therefore we would not expect anyone to apply from that quarter. There is also a well established Reserve League in our area the Essex and Herts Bordering Combination, but, I understand that they are only going to have one division, so what happens to those member clubs and others who do not have a league to go to - that's where we come in. Clubs are expected to play on their designated home pitch but those in our League who ground share may have a problem in declaring a ground to play Reserve games on - in case of confusion that is why I said they must declare where their "home" ground will be at the time of application and it will be seriously considered. Clubs who have been members of the ESL in the past are ALWAYS welcome to apply.

As usual the Ryman website still hasn't been updated. They seem to deliberately be keeping everyone in the dark.

Opinions on the whole restructuring seem to come down firmly on the side of it being a great big balls up.

The minority (the Conference and FA) ruling the majority again.

Can you imagine how my Officers and I feel to hear on a Club Call Line that we have lost One club to another League on a "sideways" move, that is not legal, yet, allegedly has been sanctioned by the FA , when we thought we had lost two and none of this has been in writing. The two clubs are "invited" in writing to another league and now can hear on a pay-for phone line that only one is going. So, someone has allowed another League, contrary to Rules to be made up to 16 at the expense of our goodselves who are now 15. Of course, we will endeavour to make up the One and I can assure you I am trying my level best as there are some good clubs out there who are close to our grading and may wish to join us in order to get Football Foundation money to advance.... despite these words, I am, as they say "speechless " !
