BILLERICAY LADIES WIN LEAGUE CUP

Recommended Posts

Silverware was on its way to New Lodge yesterday as the Ladies team beat Chelmsford 2-1 in the League Cup final at White Notley, in front of 450 people.

Having the best of the chances in the first half, Billericay had two goals disallowed before going 1 - 0 down just before half time.

In the second half, Chelmsford looked favorites, piling on the pressure until half way through when Billericay broke through and a wonderful chip shot equalised the score. About ten minutes later, Billericay scored the winning goal. A shot decieved the Chelmsford keeper, who obviously thought it was going wide, hit the post, rebounded back off the keeper and into the net.

The scores stayed 2 - 1 but the game was not without incident with Chelmsford coming close to equalising the score with a wicked shot that hit the bar and rebounded out.

Overall a very entertaining game with some good football played by both teams. Billericay posed for pictures afterwards, inviting Steve and Sharon Kent to take part in the celebrations as it was our Chairmans birthday.

After the game, the Ladies team and supporters returned to New Lodge for celebration drinks.

Well done to the girls and the clubs first trophy under Steve Kents Chairmanship. Lets look for more from all the teams next season!!!!

Well done Ladies, a well deserved win.

Chelmsford are top of the League and went into this game full of confidence after a 6-0 victory the previous week.

Full credit to Kim, her preparations and tactics were spot on, the Ladies were patient, and played good football throughout, resulting in a well deserved win.

As usual we had by far the most support....what a cub BTFC

It was nice to have the celebration back at New Lodge, (Kim's organisation again) and I thank everyone that sent a JD & Coke my way.

A Great day.....and I am looking forward to many more.

Well done to the Ladies, enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine watching a close fought game. Thought we deserved it, we created more chances and largely dominated the midfield.

Think that's it now for football for at least a couple of weeks <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
