Seems ages already since the last game.

 

Wonder how the preps are going for next week and how the boys are keeping their competitive edge. Its a final and its going to be tough and Hednesford's league position doesn't tell the story. They got here somehow and this cup may just bring out that edge in them. We'll have to be up for it to match them!

 

Also, wonder if those injuries have finally cleared.

 

Didn't realise how near Hednesford was to Birmingham.

Yes I might be!

 

Three weeks is a long time though without a game and its surprising how quickly you can lose that competitive edge.

Must be the same for Hednesford though but it's a one off and often it's who's up for it and better mentally prepared for the day that can have the final say.

A strong Millwall side entertained Canvey Island F.C. in what wa

s touted as a pre-final match for both teams. Cup and Trophy fin

als being played by the two teams next weekend. A hard fought en

counter between two teams confident of success, ended in a 3-0 v

ictory for Canvey Island. Two goals from Junior McDougald, follo

wed by one from midfield maestro Ty Gooden, were enough to see o

ff Millwall at the New Den. The fact is that after being brought

on with ten minutes to go, British footballs top scorer, Lee Bo

ylan should have made it five nil, twice hitting the post. All i

n all a great result and confidence booster for Canvey with only

seven days to go to the Trophy final. All in all Millwall strug

gled to make an impact on the game, even with several first team

players in the line-up. Without a doubt Canvey's day.

You could imagine this kind of game to be featured as part of the build up for Millwall on Saturday on Grandstand/Football Focus.
