where do we go from here....?

Options seem to be fast running out if they haven't all been exhausted already. I remember speaking to Dave Canham at the Tamworth game near the end of last season and he was confident that all would be ok - mmmmm

The conf have done the only thing they really can do to protect the validity of their league. We can't groundshare for ever - it just does not make sense in the best non league in the country. Therefore with no council backing and no plan of action from the club that appears to have any backing from either the league or the council, we will be voted out. I can't see any other outcome.

People then speak of the Conf South. I suppose this is our best hope, playing on a building site and negotiating from there. At least we would be back in the town, and as far as am aware Moules and his merry men have yet to settle on ground regs as they did not really know who would be in it - that could be our saving grace.

You have to ask too which of our players would want to drop a league, and whether the loss of our skipper and best midfielder means the players have concluded that it is all over for Gate in the conf.

Depressing stuff really.

The one question that I would like answered, but I fear we will never know the answer to, is upon what basis/agreement was Hartsdown demolished, and how was that agreement recorded? Many turn their fire on the council, but there are still many faces at the heart of MFC who were part of that decision and have never explained the full circumstances that led to this whole situation beginning. Why on earth we demolished a perfectly good stadium and tried to build a super stadia when non league is littered wtih examples of how this can never work remains beyond me completely.

Maybe it is time for the truth to come out and a few people to be more forthcoming in explaining the decisions that got us into this mess.

Is the truth out there ???

Its out there plus many other unsatisfactory decisions and statements that are mis-truths and they too WILL come out. A public meeting at the end of all this will, must, and should give us all the answers. Those really in the wrong WILL be sounded out!!!, whether it be from the club or/and council the truth will surface, be sure of that.We must not let all this be swept under the carpet and forgotten.

10 years now at least 5 different schemes with different developers a series of good investors. link music ,steve wrightson, previous sponsors,Gordon Wallis,Gomez,J.P.and others. Between them propably a million pounds. EVERYTHING HAS FAILED.One common denominator Keith Piper. Think about it!

Keith is 100 per cent MFC, but he has plenty of enemies. That is why TDC have obstructed this scheme. Trouble is, is there anyone else wanting to take the helm?

He'll stay to the bitter end thats for sure. Acciording to NLP John K says there will be a mass exodus next week when we finally get the drop. Can we hold onto five or six players. if so we will still have abasis for a decent squad.

[color:"blue"]How far across the board will an exodus go? Of last seasons squad only the under 23's have a contract (Smith, Oates, Abbott, Pulman?) the others will be looking to retain a playing place in the Conference. Though I would've thought Oates & Smith would bung in transfer requests too as they'd be certain to get a berth in the Conference.

What about CK though? Although he's under contract will he be happy with a drop? Especially after being a candidate for a top Conference managerial position so recently. The only positive with him may be the challenge he'd face to rebuild the squad from scratch.

Who else would want to play in a lower division - Watson ? Edwards ? Venter ? (before last week I'd have included Porter).

Next season it's going to be a whole new Margate - lets hope we can build at Hartsdown and get some money to build a squad. [/color]

Sigere signed a three year contract so he will still be with us. what of Sodje, isnt he under 23. As for people staying on Annon i feel may stay and i cant imagine Edwards in any other shirt, than the margate no. 4. hope Jjunju and Che stay as well, after all i did put them and Sodje in my acknowledgements for my dissertation!!

[color:"blue"] Word from KP was that all of the older players were out of contract - which would include Siggy. Sam Sodje feels he should be in a higher League than the Conference (hence his late signing last season) would think he wouldn't be happy with the drop, must admit I'd forgotten about Che who'd flourish at that level - Moses & Darren Annon would be good candidates for Conf.2 - depends on how ambitious they are. Think the chris Kinnear factor is high here. Some will stay cos he has. If we can keep 6 players we have an excellent base. che would be excellent in conf 2. Think watson if fit would score bucketloadds. CK will hold the key if he stays we will have a solid side for that level. My main concern is the ground i cant seea partial ground by mid aug i really cant. Ashford with 150 crowds im afraid. Spose the absolute keen onesd will go. I will cos iv'e stood in crowds of 150 before. Its the ground thing.

I cant see the point of going over and over the same old points. How many times do we whip ourselves. All it does is increase the pain and increase the length of the healing process. So lets stop going over old stories, lets be positive and pray or whatever that we are on the right road to a new season in a new league(hopefully only for one )in a new stadium with a new 5 aside set up and a new commercial development to help pay for our push into the league. My biggest hope is the issue is sorted early enough so CK can bring in the players we will need to survive and prosper next season. <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" /> long live the gate.
