Howdy!

 

Arrived in San Francisco this morning after three days in Salt Lake City.

 

Currently in an internet cafe on Pier 39 overlooking the bay. Nice view!!

 

Salt Lake was... interesting. Went to the Mormon Temple. They wanted my address so that some missionaries in St Albans could have a chat when I return.

Going up to Haight Ashbury tomorrow (Wednesday) and probably Chinatown in the evening.

 

Then gonna do Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge on Thursday.

 

Costello - might check out that Italian restaurant on Pier 33 too!!

 

Gutted about missing the game on Saturday. Sounded absolutely fking quality.

 

Mind you, I'd have probably only ended up staying in the bar and missing all nine goals anyway!!

 

Off to Vegas Friday/Saturday!!

Shocking hotel room we were given last night. Fking filthy and stank of rotten old cigarettes. Eurgh. Mrs Z was not impressed.

 

Anyway, gentleman that he is, the Zealster complained to the management, and we got a new room. Still horrible, but smells a lot nicer. Might look for a new hotel on Expedia in a bit.

 

Just had breakfast at Denny's. A Meat Lover's Skillet - diced potato, sausage, bacon and ham all fried, and topped with fried eggs. Fking lush.

 

So we've made our way back to this cafe overlooking the harbour, enjoying and iced coffee and the view.

 

And the company of you bunch of internet nerds!!

 

Off to Upper Haight shortly, to get a tattoo, a few piercings and some hippy clobber.

Only a woman could travel all the way to San Francisco, and want to spend the entire afternoon looking round a market that sells fruit. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

 

Got nicely [****&#33;&#33;****]ered in the Hard Rock Cafe yesterday afternoon on their fine selection of cocktails. The "Lovely Rita" was meant to be a Tequila-based cocktail, but to me it just tasted like straight Tequila. It was served in a pint glass too, which is always a bonus!!

Watched a basketball match on the TV screens in there last night, between the Lakers and the Spurs.

 

Bloody fast scoring game, Spurs were a point down with 5.4 seconds to go when they got awarded a free-kick (or whatever it's called) and scored two points to take the lead with 0.4 seconds to go.

 

Anyway, typical Spurs, they still ended up losing as the Lakers scored the points they needed inside that 0.4 seconds. Seemed to keep everyone in the pub happy though.

 

Bit bored here now, and well ready to catch the flight to Vegas tomorrow. The seafront here is not bad, but it does have its similarities to Canvey. And walking up to Haight-Ashbury the other day was a bit like walking through Dellfield, Cottonmill and the Hilltop all rolled into one!!
