Our last two home attendances were 550 and 600 (admittedly aided by the lure of cheap beer). If we start doing well I reckon we could average 700+. My worry is that looking at those attendances we wont be seeing too much in the way of away fans next season whilst of course the Blue Army will probably be providing everyone else with their biggest home gate of the season.

One factor in this that nobody has picked up on is that there will be less games next season as we'll be playing in a 22 team league as opposed to 24 - less games mean less midweek games - less midweek games means higher average gates all round

Of course after we storm through to the 3rd round of the FA cup and win the Trophy we'll be facing a fixture pile-up

Simon, plus as you mentioned on the other thread Eastleigh, wont they have all the Saints fans come and watch them when the saints are away to watch their former idols.

Ourselves, two years ago, we were getting about 400, so if we make a good start from the starting blocks, expect our gates at the Iron to be higher than last year.

Boys, boys, boys, it really is too early to start all that stuff. You know you'll only get my good friend the Cruncher up on his high horse (or should that be tractor!).

Anyway, credit to you, I think you'll be strong and the decision to go full-time is a very brave one. With all your money though, I expect you guys to lead from the front.

At Braintree the decision to bring in George is a positive one and we hope to do better next season. With the Clarets with us, plus Keith Martin at Heybridge I think we're going to have a lively season.

Enjoy your summer.

Simon, was that when we won 1-0?

As it turned out, they were the three points that kept you out of the play-offs.

[hushed voice] P.S. mines the blue one at the back with the 'go faster' stripes!
