My view is fight tooth and nail to retain conference national status.

Main reason is that we will never get back up again once we lose the status, but admit to being selfish in so far as i want to watch the best standard of footbal and that is at conf national status.Equally its easier for me to get to away than home games;and i do not want to watch FGR.

Aprciate that is being selfish and respect views of local guys who find it hard to get to Crabble-can't we find a way to do it for half a season more though

Margate at Hartsdown has to be the main objective. Conference football, although a more attractive prosptect has to be sacraficed for the sake of the club.

margate back at hartsdown is better than having to tavel all the way down to dover for every home game, no matter what league we are in.

Yes but another three years at Dover!!!!

surley we Cant afford that.

I would say drop a division spend one more year at Dover while the ground gets built and come back stronger when we start making money from the develpment side of the new ground in the future.

You never know with CK in charge we could make a quick return to the conference in time for the new ground.

Could we even survive three more years of conference football at Dover, very unlikely.

Lets look to the future and give ourselves a strong foundation to build on.

As CK said in a few years time only a small amount of non league clubs will be making enough money to move for the best players and if all goes ahead Margate will be one of them.

Wasn't any of you at the meeting at Hartsdown Park last week, because if you were you would know that even if the conference had granted a further year ground share with Dover it would not of been possible. The club would have to cover a loss of £400,000 for the season. Something that would just be impossible to do! The way I see it we have no choice but to accept relegation, say goodbye to all our half decent players and start again. We can get back to conference again it will just take time.

Very disapointed that Porter was one of the first out the door. I expected more loyalty from our so called captain.

You can't blame Ports.

Remember also that our 'loyal'fans have also given him some justified and some compleyelyott criticism this year.

Agree not been brilliant, but as god as most and definately conference national class, especially in his new found position of left back!!

Agree Ports shouldn't be blamed. We don't know the circumstances and certainly sounds like he was out of contract. A player who turns up in the stands when injured to watch the Morecambe game week from the end of season doesn't seem disloyal. He was a rock for the last dozen or so games of the season and contributed a good few goals.
