What a shame we don't have to come up against Hemel! It looks like a decent division without too many surprises and lots of familiar names. Bring on the new season (just a shame really we are still under the stewardship of the mickey mouse ryman league.

That said, I feel sorry for the likes of Egham who now have to travel as far as Taunton and have missed out on the payday that is AFC Wimbledon.

Ooooooh lots of trips to Essex again to look forward to - most probably in Freezing cold nights where it takes ages to get there and then come away with nothing!

No in particular looking forward to Dover (away) who we have not met since the Conference, Kingstonian, and Salisbury.

Wonder why Hendon did not take the option to join - seems bizzare! I'm sure Anthony Howard is delighted he left us now only to be playing at the same level as us next season. Ha ha!

This is an interesting mix of the near and far, kmown and unknown.

And, as Chris wrote above, provided we can avoid Tuesday nights in Folkestone, Heybridge, Leyton et al, it should be fun.

Very different from this season, though. There are no clubs in the proposed league that you would say, at this stage, "We ought to beat them".

The other thing being evadne of course, is that so much can change at all clubs during the summer off-season months. Who would have thought Boot would have left so quickly, and Hodge having trials with Oxford so soon?

There will be many more twists and turns for all non-league clubs over the summer months which can and most likely will drastically change clubs outlooks.

Quite agree evadne, you look at that list and you can't really see any easy three points. It will be a very interesting season and it will not be until say october time when the league settles down that we will have any idea where we stand. It may even be that the league never settles and everyone will be able to beat everyone else on their day. Could be very exciting. Could also be difficult for the fans, players and management alike to assess what the expectations for the season are.

To me it looks like a proper league and is arguably as tough as the conference south and to that end restructuring has worked.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed we haven't moved over to the Southern League which has always appeared to be a more professionally run outfit. In the new Ryman set up its mostly the same teams we've come across over the last few years with a couple of exceptions i.e. Chelmsford (Gyoury's old club). I think we could well find the going difficult. How many to go up ? and could we even with sharing a ground ? It would appear that Maidenhead have been in the right place at the right time - curses !

Certainly will make things more interesting with four getting relegated from 22. Looking at the teams in the division I think we have the capacity to be competitive but much will depend on how quickly the squad can gel at the start of the new season.

Putting another spin on the league; ..... where are we going to walk to? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Out of the lot, Hampton looks the best one, as it is probably about the same as we did this year, but obviously we have to wait to the fixtures to see if we play them at the right time.

On one hand I agree with the Sussex Rebel that it might have been nice to move to the Southern League. It has a reputation of being better run, more new teams and it certainly would have been more convenient for some of fans.

But I think overall I am glad we stay in the isthmian. More teams we know, more big games (windsor, staines, hampton), the return of an old face in dover and some new challenges. None of the away trips seem too horrnedous certainly for those of us Slough based.

I am really looking forward to the kick off just pissed off that we have over two months to wait.

Agree with Martin, difficult to assess differences between the teams at this stage, but...

...Slough had an 'easy three pointer' against a certain team at the bottom of the league and didn't quite beat them...

If this season was anything to go by, any team can 'upset' any other team - consider Windsor's run of form towards the end.

It got bodged up because we nearly scored - and the fact it was pissing it down didn't help.

There will be new tunes next season I am sure - I've seen today on the BBC that a Birmingham fan has been given the job of Chant Laureatte (sp?) and he has to come up with witty and original tunes - I think I have a contender to my crown!
