...and I think that's worked out pretty well for us. The powers that be have seen sense and kept the Essex clubs together, so TC get's his derby match <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Lot's of trips to grim west london clubs unfortunately, and flippin' Hendon have bottled it and not gone into the conf south.

Great to see Chelmsford in our league, I was getting worried that we wouldn't have a derby to look forward to!

I think Hendon will do ok next season, but as they are going down a step, they might loose alot of their players, I don't think they are rich enough to keep the player they have now, but I might be wrong.

I think if we don't get promoted next season, it will be a disapointment. Has it been decided yet how many teams can go up in our league?

I suppose Hendon will consider themselves favourites for next season although it must be very dispiriting for their supporters knowing this is as good as it gets. the league doesnt look over-strong (famous last words) and given the way our club is moving forward we should aim to be up there.

My understanding of next season is that the Champs will go up and 2,3,4 and 5 will play off and the winner of the play-offs also goes up. However I would expect Hendon to occupy one of the top 5 places so God knows what happens then.

I think they'll certainly be here for the first few months of the season at least... Hope we can play them at their new ground next season although an away game at New Lodge would have a certain novelty value.

Not sure Hendon will be favourites - recent history suggests clubs that decline promotions (or in this case choose relegation?) go backwards at a rate of knots. Was it Chesham who won the league in the mid 90s and chose not to go into the conf? If memory serves they were relegated within a few years. Would have thought the likes of Ofori will already be looking for a club with ambition....

At the moment, no, I don't consider us favourites. I'm expecting us to lose some of our squad, and possibly our manager, and go backwards. If I'm proved wrong and we do keep the current staff, however, then I most certainly would expect us to finish top 5. It doesn't bode well though.

When your local rivals Basildon Utd decided to demote themselves from Ryman Div 1 or 2 North wasn't it, to ESL about 20 years ago, they were expected to walk the Essex senior league, I dont think they have ever been close to winning the league.
