Has Graham Porter retired?

since playing the last few games at left back, i thought he was outstanding and performed like the best left back in the conference-along with midfield -left back has been our problem position for 3 seasons.

To me, and by accident Porter looked like solving the problem.

Anywaythanks for the efforts GP -a true stalwart.

Where has he gone/going to anyway ?

Hope he reconsiders if he has decided to hang up his boots as i thought porter had found his place in the gate

lineup at leftback.

i belived trying to replace murphy would be impossible but porter really done well in what was a make shift move by CK that paid of quite well.

[color:"blue"] I wouldn't have thought that Ports would have retired. I'd have thought that he's just re-concidering his position in football.

I wouldn't have thought that he'd have been offered full-time football, but more likely to have been offered a spot, as an experienced campaigner, with a Conference South side. That would probably make more sense, cutting down the gruelling travel schedule of the Conference.

Best of luck to him, as he's played an important role in our rise in status. [/color] <img src="/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" />

Is Duku that bad?

Margate need some physical presence in defence and midfield-missing since Shearer went to the Fleet.

I thought Gravesend success last season was based on physical presence-nothing wrong with that-its a formula for success-or minimally survival- in conference and credit to Ford for recognising that

HAVE TO AGREE THAT PORTER WOULDNT BE HALF AS GOOD AS THOSE PLAYERS ALREADY THERE.HE DID A GOOD JOB FOR US IN THOSE EARLY YEARS AND NO-ONES TAKING THAT AWAY FROM HIM BUT OVER THE LAST SEASON HE MOST DEFINATELY HAD A FORM DIP,(apart from a few games) DUE TO AGE NO DOUBT.IN MY MIND HE WOULDN'T BE UP TO STANDARD DOWN THERE ESPECIALLY BEING YET ANOTHER YEAR OLDER.

At the moment it is possible that he will never play again following his injury in a car crash.

We are still waiting for the results. In any event, I suspect that his conference career is at an end, as he will not be the player he once was.

Last week's Reporter said that Duku's injury had been confirmed as a fracture, and Andy Ford said he was keen to sit down and open new contract talks with the Fridge. Then again, the Reporter has been known to get things wrong in the past.

If I am correct Porter has been signed as cover for both Left Back and Centre back spots , not as an expected first team regular .

But I may be wrong..

There has been nothing from the club as yet to say that he has signed.

There's many a slip etc
