Wayne's in a world of his own - Enfield Gazette.

Recommended Posts

Andy, i feel you're starting to be outnumbered.....I agree with the sentiments of Wayne,THM,Gonzo, and Jim.

You are saying 'don't rock the boat'.....Sometimes that boat needs to be rocked.

Obviously we want the Players,Management ,and boardroom to be close....BUT we must make sure that that 'closeness' doesn't hinder tough desicions, when they have to be made.

We are very ambitious fans, and will only be happy with constant improvement both of players and what league/s we play in....Let's not fall into the comfort zone.

The only case i feel you may have a point on , is the timing of the column.....A week later may have been prefurable

Nought wrong with healthy discussion. The season just finished has shown that ETFC have work to do for next season. It is no good being a better team on paper if you don't win games. I think we need to strengthen the squad with 4-5 good quality players if we are to mount a challenge for the ryman division 2 title.

My only complaint is that it is passed off as the voice of the fans, not the voice of ONE appointed fan who was not appointed by the fans like the directors are and they can be removed.

While I don't agree with everything the Belch says, the timing of that article included, he is entitled to say it. We should have no 'monothought culture' here at the Town. Stifling awkward opinions reeks of Mickey-Mousedom. We are, in terms of support at least, a big club and will be even bigger in future - so let's act big!

End of rant.

PS Belch, you going to bring that Numanoid weirdo down next season?

That's the beauty of having opinions. However, as I have said on more than one occasion, it was the timing.

I will keep my crusade going because I know others will do as well.

Enjoy your football. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I agree with the sentiments of the majority on this thread - we're all entitled to our opinions. I actually bought the Gazette this week as a direct result of this thread so Belchmaster must be doing something right, at least as far as the Gazette is concerned! Didn't think his views were overly critical really, it's not like he named players he wants to see go.

I do think Jim Chandler deserves our strong support though - he's been fantastic for our club and I'm sure he'll continue to be. Jim (and his mangement team, who also shouldn't be forgotten) doesn't rest on his laurels and it's important to remember that. Whilst we might compare this season's team with last, players will want to move on and a great player like Saint was always going to be impossible to replace (as with JR next year). Nevertheless, Jim has improved the team over the course of the season - Billy Cove, Lee Smith and Ian Cooper were all shrewd signings and whilst Daniel Clarke's return didn't work out quite as well as we'd hoped, I've still every faith in him for next year. It takes abig man to go back on earlier comments for the benefit of the club and I think Jim proved his worth by bringing Daniel back....how about a reconcilliation with Dave Allen next season too!!!

Anyway, at this moment in time, to a Red, 4th place in the league doesn't seem too bad!!!!

Takes me back... that REALLY annoyed visiting B****t and Wealdsdumb fans, that song did. The B****t now call us 'kings of feeder-league football'. It was intended as an insult, but I like it! Shall we make it a song?

Sounds like a plan. Oh to draw B****t in the Cup next season and bring the inbreds down to the Brimmobeu cauldron!

Is there another ground in Brimsdown then?
We have as much chance of drawing B****t in the cup as Liverpool winning the Champions League next season.

I know how to avoid such problems in future. Simply copy the example set by the mighty Spurs and have our end of season bash just before Christmas!

Southport - this weeks column was the last of the season as the season has now ended (in case you missed it). Yes, I was at the Presentation evening, was not hiding and would have been honoured to have present a prize. Just the same as you have a right to sing out of tune appalling songs behind the goal!

If the songs I make up are so bad then you don't have to print any more of them!

As was pointed out to me you were happy to print them after we stuffed EFC 4-0!
