It's Kingstonian Away

Sort of get the impression that the League hasn't really wanted to engage with the idea of play offs from the off, and hasn't exactly gone out of its way to make things clear for all to understand. But I appreciate that it's probably just that I haven't been party to the great lengths the League must have gone to to make everyone aware that we'd playing Ks if we won on Wednesday, and I'm sure that that if we'd all been paying just a bit more attention we wouldn't have fallen into the trap of thinking that we'd be at Bedford.

Eh? What?

Have you ever considered a career in politics or the Civil Service, hb?

First of all. What do you mean "we" paleface? .

Second of all. '.....paying just a bit more attention...'? It's been in practically every matchday programme that we've seen since Christmas, on practically every web-site message board and in every alternate copy of the Non League Paper.

I appreciate that these are not 'official sources', hb. An 'official source' has, surely, communicated the minor detail of who is to play whom and on what basis and where to the clubs concerned. We should appoint a chap, a chap to whom we could give a title. Something along the lines of "Executive In Charge Of Matches And All Arrangements Thereto", or perhaps even "Match Secretary" for short to whom such official correspondence could be passed.

£50,000 a year should attract the right calibre of applicant.

Third of all. Out of casual curiousity, who's taking the teamsheet from the manager to the referee one hour before kick-off tomorrow?

Fourth of all. Is my memory playing tricks or did you not make the Kingstonian game at their place a few weeks ago? I would be interested to know the identity of the person who did the team sheet stuff that day, too.

hb. You do a fabulous job and you are worth every penny of the £50,000 a year.

However, old chap. Whilst there is no question of the matter remaining as a 'thing' between us, I did take exception to your posting when you seemed to infer that it is somehow 'OUR' [and as I am one of us, ME/MY] fault that we were [was] unaware that we are to play away at Kingstonian tomorrow as, to quote:

we should have "...been paying a bit more attention..."

It's not for "US" to pay a bit more attention, hb. It's for someone with 'special resposibility' to pay a bit more bl00dy attention.

Oh, by the way. It wasn't Kingstonian, it was Aylesbury. I have a special reason for asking. It's to satisfy my curiousity on another matter.

Do you think that the chap who used to drive the red tractor will be O.K. with the team sheet stuff tomorrow? I would be happy to play a small role in assisting if required. I could round up two or three other volunteers if necessary.

count me in for holding up a corner of the A4 team sheet on its delivery through the streets of 'Arra

will there be an archer, ala Barca olympix, shooting it thru the Middlesex skyline on its final journey to the refs dressing room?

Actually, I was joking, or rather having a dig. There was nothing aimed at you or anyone else at the club. Re-read it. I never accuse anyone of anything. And you can check back on that one. The implication, if not clear, was that it's powers away from the club who haven't been feeding what's been going on through to the rest of us. How many people were certain of the format for Extra Time at 90 minutes Wednesday? Not many.

But you do ask whether I was at the Ks game. And I was.

Aylesbury?

hb. As a fan on the terraces, I, surely, should not have the responsibility for advising my fellow Saintsfans whether it Golden Goals, Silver Goals, penalty shoot outs, drop kicks from the 22 metre line moving backwards 5 metres at a time until one is missed, a coin toss or a drinking contest to determine the outcome if the scores are level at 90 minutes.

It's for someone with 'special responsibility', hb.

I've just heard the latest saga in this fiasco. Bedford.
