ryman 2 or esl

Recommended Posts

they had pretty much their 1st team out and it was men against boys!

invisable man you are right in saying that the prem sides are not that interested in some of them cups, however im pretty sure ryman 2 and the esl regard most competiotions with the same importance as we are on the same level.

i can understand towns reasons for leaving, i agree that sponsorship opportunities will probably be increased and it may help attract some players (as they dont realise is the same level as the esl). i do not necissarily agree that you will be playing on better pitches or that the crowds will be that much greater. i also believe it would be more difficalt for you to win that as you will be ginto most games blind, not knowing much about your opposition. in the esl you know your opposition and what you will be facing.

Equally, the Ryman 2 teams won't know what to expect from ETFC. Many teams in the ESL have decided that the way to get points from us is to get plenty of men behind the ball (often doubling-up on Clarkie) and then try to catch us on the counter-attack. Flackwell and Edgware didn't pursue these tactics. Therefore I reckon Clarkie can get 30 goals next season and life should be easier.

Is there really that much more travelling in Ryman 2? - Hertford, Ware and EFC seem fairly nearby (but s'pose Dorking isn't too close).

wont be as much travelling next year , as dorking are in Ryman One.

Wokingham have left the league , and i heard that Witham had applied to the ESL.

Enfield should be joined by Either Epsom and Ewell or Corinthan Casuals (who are based in Tolworth), as for the rest the longest trip will be to Abingdon the rest being no more than an hours drive.

it should be a strong league with Hertford,Chertsey ,Flackwell Heath, Enfield Town and Ilford in it.

I'm not sure if anybody other than Enfield Town will be moving sideways after all. Now that the Ryman League have learned that their Div 1 clubs must be relegated, I think they are trying to accommodate as many of them as possible in Div 2. The invite to clubs to move sideways went out when they thought there would be no relegation and they needed other league's clubs to make the numbers up.

With GONZO around SESAME STREET would be closer brought to by the number (ryman)2 and the word "confusing".
