Northwood 4-5 Billericay.....Errrrrrrr Remarkable!

Recommended Posts

Frankly bizarre game....

Team

Weaver

Aziz (Black 51) Trott Sappleton Taylor

Hunter Dormer Henty Tomlinson

Stowe (Opara 76) Hockton

Northwood took the lead after 34 secs.... We hit straight back and by the quarter hour mark were 3-1 up. Trott scored the first, heading home a Dormer free kick, then Hunter finished off a Tomlinson cross, and then move of the game saw Hockton score after a great move involving Dormer and Tomlinson

Northwood then scored 2 more including a pen, to go in at 3-3 half time. Straight after half time a fluked Northwood cross goes in off the post to put them 4-3 up. Again we hit back though, Chris Stowe (having a good game) heads in a Hockton cross then Hockers beats the offside trap to score his second.

Could have been more, Hunter hit the bar and then ballooned the rebound over, Hockers shot over when clean through, Stowe hit the post with a header!

Fun way to end the season, major positive for next season was that Stowe and Hockton look like finally being a partnership where both players are going to get goals.

Strange old game, it all seemed a bit surreal out there.

Good to see Stowey getting a start and playing well, and pleasing to go out on a win.

So many ifs buts and maybes from this season but I think we can all look forward to next season and the prospect of a serious promotion challenge.

Thanks to Tony the Tache and Gazza for their chauffeuring duties this season and also to Andy T and Simon (as well as ttt) for providing the company for the "relegation ruby" last night.

That's okay jl, it was a pleasure.

I would agree that it was a bizarre game...with both defences having their moments of silliness. Nice to see us come from behind twice (Ooooo matron).

It's been a tough ol season but I would like to thank all who have pitched up and supported us, on and off the field (not my place I know but thought I'd pitch up with that). It's not just the football but it's seeing your mates and having a laugh (and a cry - sob). It's what make the club a great place to be at.

Time for us to re charge those batteries for the next season and get behind the club for the promotion push. There will be lots of changes, all for the good, from the ground to the team.

Shame I couldn't get to the ruby but looking after two small people took priority. Maybe next year.

Unbelievable. When i saw Northwood 4 trickle across the old vidiprinter i thought bloody hell, weve been thrashed last day of the season. then camr disbelief, and frankly hilarity as i saw the actual result. a strange day of results, including a 5-0 away win, and an 8-0 for bedford plus various other high scoring results.

all in all an ultimately disappointing season, obviously, but we have to look at the highs.

we didnt finish bottom when it looked for all the world we would pre christmas.

we had a really good go at turning over the deficit we had accumulated in the first half of the season. i think most of us would have been surprised if you told us in november that it would take the penultimate game of the season to finally send us down.

we got revenge over Northwood and kept them down too, and i was impressed we got a result when ultimately it didnt really matter.

we had our moment over c****y. just a shame we couldnt help keep em down like last year.

the arrival of an exciting new chairman, and i think we have a lot to thank him for.

plenty of experience for the new manager, and im a big believer in keeping the same manager for a long time and keeping things consistent, so lets hope he stays for a time to come.

lastly were hoping for a really big push for the title or play offs next season ( i think thats how it works; 2 up including one from play off???). all in all we should look at this as an opportunity for the club to build, and i genuinely see this as an exciting time for the club.

hope everyone has a great summer (waiting for the pre season to start), and well be ready to cheer the boys onto victory next year
