Presentation Evening - This Saturday!

i would have liked to be there but i have a family and mortgage

and i have to way up the costs of these sort of things

as the missus says

£50 entrance for 3 people

plus beer

soon mounts up

I sort of agree with Bossweb that its gonna be another expensive night (and will there be anything for veggies to eat?) but also understand that we can't have it at Windsor.

This last month of games has completely broke the bank for me, but i just didn't want to miss any games...and i suppose i don't have to spend so much on beer, could make my own sandwhiches and cycle instead of getting the train...

It's also my girlfriends birthday the next day so I have to get back at some vaguely-reasonable not-completly-drunk sort of time.

I told her it was out of order to have her birthday the day after the last game of the season and also offered to take her to the Croydon game as a birthday present, but to no avail.

You miss my point completely---but then why doesn't that surprise me.
Attending for an hour is not an option--attend all night or not at all. Not very family friendly. Not a big issue, but still dissappointing.

I should just point out Ted that my response was not to you it was to BOSSWEBB. Your post must have appeared while I was writing mine.

 

In response to your post, the point you make is highly appropriate, it is not the best situation for families or people that do not want to stay for the entire journey. It is unfortunate that this is the case. I can only presume that those who organised the trip put some thought into it before making the final decision.

Radders---sorry for getting confused---I'm in a take no prisioners mood tonight. In some ways its a very good idea as it makes an evening of it, in others not so.

Yes I understand everyone's concern's about the river boat idea....but....The price is really good for a evening with all your friends and its one way to keep the players together...as you know they soon disappear if not tied down !!

 

Its a thank you in a way to them ! from the club ...the club are paying for the hire and food.

 

I can remember when STSA did this many years back the cost was then over 25 pounds a head, so 12-50 will be good value...

 

I accept it's not everyone's taste but what opions did the club have ?? to celebrate our promotion !!

 

Windsor using their club house , the polish club have a wedding booked ( on this date for almost one year).....

 

Yes disapointment for some....but remember only 30- 40 supporters were there at last years presentation after our last game...

 

to hear Steve Brown moan about the supporters !!! .....

 

Yes something differant this year but its a way we can all be together players and supporters....

I can see both sides of the argument about a Riverboat Shuffle but I think it's a great idea. Just a shame I won't be there. I'll be thinking of you all freezing on the river while I'm on a beach in Florida.
