true or false eton manor

Recommended Posts

Hi Billy,

I can confirm that an official approach has been made by another Senior Club. However, the Management at the Manor are an extremely loyal bunch of people and I can guarantee 100% that all the Club Management will be in place to start the 2004/2005 Season. The Players at Eton Manor deserve nothing but respect for their efforts in this current season and The Management will show their loyalty to them and the Club by rejecting ALL offers to move on.

Eton Manor believe they have the right backing, direction and leadership to seriously challenge for the title next season.

Watch this space!

Regards

I'm glad your management won't be tempted. What you guys have achieved this season is excellent and can now be built on. First time I saw Town play Manor was in the league cup in our first season away. We mashed you 7-1 but you have come a long way since then. Keep up the good work. You are my club of the season.

Billy, money has never been our god, and to be quite honest, this is the second time i've been approached by a club to move, and i refused then as i have now. This is a great club to be at,and the future looks rosy, we asked for time when we started, and the club duly oblidged, so why on earth would we want to move on when we have just as much chance as the next club of winning something next year. When you work with people like Reg and Alex it makes you realise just what running a club is all about, they must be two of the nicest people in non league football at the present time.Looking forward to next season already.

The whole history and tradition of the Essex Senior League hinges on good people like Eton Manor , we are not only here for clubs who want promotion and , goodness me, we have seen more of those than any other Southern "feeder" but to look after the interests and encourage others who enjoy their football in the best arena for football in the County. At this time when loyalties are being questioned we applaud the Manor and all clubs who have given their all to play their football ... surely it musn't always be the lure of wads of money that brings success or am I naive. The alternative of good old fashioned committment and loyalty to the ESL such as the aforementioned club have given since 1975 and our Champions, Concord Rangers must be applauded and the least your Officers can do is to keep the ESL flag flying ( and we will ) whatever the future holds as I cannot emphasise enough, the proper "feeder" leagues are County ones and, in Essex we have the capability, being such a huge county, of being a true "biggy".

Spot on, LgeChairman, but I hope you'll understand why an ambitious club like ETFC will want to move on. We were born out of a struggle and the majority of our supporters have tasted success over the years at our previous club - we certainly want to be up at those exalted heights again and beyond.

That takes nothing away from the ESL - this league will always have a special place in the hearts of supporters, players and officials alike, I'm sure. The people at Eton Manor typify what we've found in this league and are a credit to the league and non league football in general. As an ETFC supporter and nothing more, I would have thought a pre-season friendly against Eton Manor would be a bonus to us as well as the Manor.

I'm sure there's still lots of water to flow under the bridge yet before those of us at ETFC find out where we'll be playing our football next season. I do hope, though, that the ESL remains a strong league next season - I'm sure you'll all agree that standards have risen at a number of teams this season and not just at those who were hoping for promotion. The ESL has a reputation for bringing on, and not holding back, those teams that want to move on - I guess that was what attracted us to the ESL in the first place. Long may that continue....
