Rugg starts but only 4 subs. Surely we could have put one of the reserves such as Jason Hallett or Lewis Lilley on the bench to make up the numbers and give them a bit of experience.

As it happened, we didn't use any of the subs anyway. Canvey created very few clear cut chances but did at least play better in the second half (first half saw Rugg isolated up front, Minton was trying to support him). 4 bookings I think (Berquez, Duffy, Smith and Gibbs). Conditions were poor, ref was poor (had evidently got a new loud whistle for his birthday and used it at every opportunity). I think both sides were happy with a point.
