Quite Scary When You Think About This.

Recommended Posts

Makes you wonder what the plans are for the future in these new unchartered waters and it raises a number of questions.

1) Dare we gain promotion to the football league of all things and just how far will we go.

2) The current state of affairs with our ground at Park Lane seem manageable but what if we were to have a new stadium with greater costs.

3) We have seen how other clubs through different circumstances fall financially apart as they overeach the mark. Hope we can sustain ourselves.

4) The fan base will grow but this will be quite a slow process as some of the faithful fans sever ties with other locally established teams.

5) Is that new stadium going to go ahead and when will it be done. Strategically, it should attract all the regular Canvey supporters, perhaps more from the West of the Island and it may attract support from those from Benfleet also. Its one of those things however that we won’t know unless the stadium is built.

Should we embark on a great journey up the leagues or should this be our pinnacle now, right for the Island, the area and our future, so what is the ambition of the club and how far does it want to go, and should it go?

Questions, questions but we are knocking on the door now!

But due to the fact your crowds aren't exactly massive you obviously have a load of floating support, floating support don't watch losing or run of the mill teams so on the other side of the coin if you're happy just to survive in the conference or be a Top 10 side but not wanting to go up you may lose support as a result!

a new ground would be good and would attract more fans but it needs to be kept small and compact.. big ground, small crowd equals crap atmosphere.. cant see the league being an issue for some years if ever.. all that matters is getting established in the conf.. no way of knowing what a ful season of conf football will be like, a lot harder than a few cup games i reckon though.. getting the ground sorted then seeing what is achievable .. remember we have been relegated before on our trip up the leagues, ne reason why it wont happen again.. meanwhile heres to fluking our way into next seasons playoffs ;-)
