Trophy Final 2001

Recommended Posts

Such a miserable day yesterday that I decided to watch the video of the Trophy final from 3 years ago and what a reminder of a great day for the club.

Watching the game itself, the ball seemed to be more up in the air with headers going backwards and forwards between the sides. Passes on both sides went astray as they seem to be over hit. Whether this was due to conditions on the day or perhaps the flight of the ball in the stadium which seemed to be different, if that’s makes sense.

Although some existing players have experienced it in the team, I wonder if the team as a whole should watch the video from 3 years ago and perhaps learn something from the day, or just go at it from afresh.

After this, I watched the Northampton game. Amazing to see at the start of the coverage where they show the sea wall end, then pan round to the dug out side then the pre-north bank side. You just would not recognise what it used to look like.

Are you willing to have a copy of the video made ? I went to the game but don't have Sky, have tried (and failed) to get a copy since then. I would of course be willing to pay, there might be others interested too...send me a private mail if you prefer
