Jude Sterling -- Stevenage

Get a management team first, develop a style throughout the club sides then go for the best available to suit winning with stamina in that style

Not easy, not quick but brings great reward, look at Canvey-Shots-Diamonds and others who although money rich needed time to develop the winning of the big rewards

I wouldn't waste anymore time with Jude Sterling. Good player yes, but he didn't want to join us last time, so why bother trying to sign him again. I'm sure that there won't be any problem signing players, money talks in football as everyone knows and if the cash is being splashed then there isn't too much to stop our new guv'nor signing whoever he wants.

From what i know Jude was let go mainly because of his time keeping, if he kept on turning up late then that isn't good enough but...Maybe it's down to the manager's inability to deal with players as individual's the same with Nathan Elder and Mick Marsden, don't ignore the player as in the latter ask why they are turning up late !

 

The bottom line to me is that we miss Jude at the back !!

 

As for ability to get anyone

I will take a player out of thin air...Michael Twiss from Chester top quality central midfielder, now can you truly say with all honesty that Michael Twiss would turn down playing at league football again to join a team in the conferance N for any amount of money ??

From what I remember [i think Unc told us] Jude was being signed. A contract was agreed between Jude and HFC, but he was late showing up, because essentially, he had changed his mind and didn't sign the release the papers for his transfer. That's right, aint it?

I think Unc also said blame the agents, when i said how let down i felt. One thing for sure though though is that Jude is the one player i would give a second chance to, for all we know the 'Gaffa' might think he is a rubbish footballer and not rate him anyway but if the chance came up i'd take the risk.

By the same token you could say that Beckham would turn us down as he'd prefer to play in the La Liga or Premiership??!!! As for Sterling, I believed that he and his agent tried to play us off against another club to increase the size of his contract, wasn't that the case?? All pretty much boils down to showing a lack of willing to sign for the club. If the new gaffer decided to bring him in then fair enough, I would just have thought the club would have a longer memory!

Stop being bloody patronising, you seem to want to make a habit of that. Danny Gay was frozen out something that Southend fans never did understand, Steve had to commute from Essex to Bristol every day hardly the usual trip. Adam Locke i beileve is friends with our owner and John Martin just joined.

 

Corse alot of players want to be part of our future and part of the 'new rushden and diamonds' but not every player does.

 

I don't doubt the clubs beilef and williness to spend money i just think you saying "not much to stop our guvnor signing whoever he wants" is far fetched. I will take an example we made a bid for an un-named striker the offer was excepted but he wouldn't drop down !

My only point to make is that there is very little point in signing anyone who doesn't really want to play at a club. Have seen it many times in the past at various clubs and it seldom works. If they don't want to play they can piss off somewhere else..

yes we have (nearly) achieved our goal of top six and we got those exciting cup runs that only Georgie can deliver in that feverish style....
