It may not have been pretty today but we got the win we wanted - nice to see Daniel Clarke back on the scoresheet.

 

Anybody know the Concord, Sawbridgeworth and Ilford results?

Concord won and Ilford Won.

 

Ground was rock hard and starting to get dusty.

 

In the first 5 minutes the ball went over the line from Kevin Riley but was adjudged not to have! Then later in the first half a defender handled the ball to keep it out whilst in the box but the ref missed it and the lineman was blind side.

 

Second half clarkee hit a screamer past the excellent keeper. Best Keeper I've seen this season after our own Chopper. In fairness we had a few unlucky offisdes in their box. Such is football!

 

There was the odd occasion Bowers looked dangerous but that was an odd occasion!

 

311 watch what all Towners hope is our last Saturday game in the ESL. No disrespects to anyone intended! With Town fans singing "farewell to the ESL"!

The Kevin Riley header did not go over the line.

 

It was a difficult game on a terrible pitch, but the Towners were the better footballing side. Their keeper was absolutely superb, making several fine saves that Chooper would've been proud of. Nothing he could've done about the Danny Clarke goal which was emphatically smashed into the back of the net.

 

What was with all the anti-Arsenal songs today? I wonder if you'll still be singing them when Arsenal win the league AT THE LANE! :-D

 

Cracking atmosphere, I wouldn've joined in but I was feeling a little ill today. Hope to join you all on tuesday night behind the goal. I'll make myself known. Plus, could someone point me in the direction of Southport or Jnr - need to hand over the penalty money.

First half was pretty dire. ETFC seemed disorganised whilst Bowers were thankfully that much worse. Nicely taken goal by Clarkey and for about 10 mins after that Town decided to pass the ball around and show that they were the better footballing side. They're still not gelling up front. Smith & Cove seem to play well together - how about putting Clarkey on a wing?

 

Will 3rd place be enough to secure promotion to Ryman 1N? - heard murmurings a couple of weeks back that this may be the case. Either way it looks like we're gonna have to find another forum to use in a couple of weeks! Have thoroughly enjoyed travelling around the wilds of essex (apart from the rather malodorous concord!) but I'm hoping for a change of scenery.

1) Anti Arsenal songs - actually it was pro Towners; as some one who only supports one souther team; I thought it was excellent

 

2) If you need to give Junior sponsorship money she will be helping in the tea hut and board room as normal @ the Sawbo game. ( me I'm the gob at behind the goal - singing anti Arsenal songs! just come up and ask any of the lads guys behind the goal and you'll find me - or buy a 50/50 ticket from me and not hicksy!)

I was just trying to touch the nerves of the Tottenham supporters... but the humour got lost in cyberspace me thinks.
