Unlucky at losing Proths to Gravesend. He is a quality player with a great right foot. He's a good passer of the ball and deadly at set pieces. He would have been a great signing.

He did get a mention on Bridge's subs bench, i havn't been overly impressed with him but in a way that's because i think Jamie has been fantastic and i feel they are the same sort of players !

Last season we were crying out for a play-making centre half. We get Lee Williams. Doesn't really do much, does he? I heard about his reputation long before he joined us and since have kept an eye out for him during our games. Am disappointed with the results. A couple of efforts on goal, yes, but none yet to his name. If he is continually chosen in the starting XI then I really do hope he improves, but I think this could be why we're playing pretty dire at the moment.

Williams doesn't add anything to the team. He can't even get into Grays' first team so what the hell is he doing at Hornchurch?

 

The couple of times I've seen him he has done nothing. He'd do a job playing for someone like Braintree or Heybridge but not HX!

interesting debate and I think that regardless of our own personal opinions...what is coming out of the posts is that there are players brought in this season that aint good enough to play for Hx....

 

we've all gotta bear in mind here that Georgie had an open chq book....one would think that given that situation we could have found players somewhat more....errr...accomplished or....errr...younger...than some of the ones he brought in....

 

also have to say that the among the best players that Georgie brought in.....in my opinion...were jude sterling...lloyd opara and kevin stevens.....

 

okay jude and lloyd were bad time keepers....so what...that's a manager's job...

 

to manage the players...

 

I'm not knocking Georgie...I love the little guy to bits...but I do think that he lost the plot a little after the cup heroics....around december I'd say....seemed somewhat distracted....

Don't get me started on the bad signings that have joined us this season. That, in my humble opinion, was GB's downfall. UB, sorry youngun, but Ollie and Vinny were brought in during the Marsden era weren't they???? Also think the same can be said of Keeling, Gay, John Martin and Westy??? Maybe I'm wrong, stand me corrected if I am. The list of dodgy signings under the Borg era to too long to list. Matthews, yes maybe quality but is always injured, Andy Douglas, simply not up to it, Opara, never given a fair crack of the whip, Ade sh*t, Old Man Russ Abbott [****!!****] useless, Williams kak, etc, etc. As Unc said, open cheque book yet decided to sign sh*t!

I don't rate Williams but I don't think he deserves the berating he has been getting on here. He would be first to admit (I'm sure) that he isn't a skilful as J.Martin or J.Keeling but at least he tries. As Unc says different point he was signed by the manager that is not William's fault!
