Tony Boot's Thread

All hail to King Hodge(s) for another stunning performance, but I think Tony Boot deserves a thread for himself as well! We are often quick to criticise him for not shooting from outside the box, but his goal today was outstanding and well done to him as he keeps getting himself on the scoresheet.

 

I didn't see his involvement in the double red card situation, I was watching the ball (Wenger comments can be added here if you like) but I certainly saw the whack he took in the face. A suspension looms but hopefully Tony along with Hodgey can fire in the goals against Whyteleafe, Egham and Met Police that we need to take maximum points.

Some did talk about Booty giving their player a good smack in the mouth, but will be interesting to hear what did actually happen. All we saw was Boot tending to a cut somewhere on his mouth?, and the Windsor player continuing to react to whatever Boot had said or done in response.

 

Fair play to the lad though, his movement and scoring ability is vital and despite the stick he gets from being caught offside, he does make a number of very good runs to get into scoring positions. It just seems Veli is the only one with the quickness of feet to pick him out before he breaches the defence.

 

Well done Tony, you worked hard for the team today, keep it up!

Yes, it certainly was a good goal and showed what he's capable of. He's too often critisised for being greedy and making bad decisions re: shooting or taking on too many defenders, and also being lazy, but in this case he made a good choice and overall played very well and worked very hard today.

I said on nother thread that I clearly saw Tony elbow the Windsor player to the head, then the other player shoved Tony. I obviously missed the start of the exhanges. At that point my concern was that Tony would be sent off, and the other player would get away with it.
