Ryman League - Ford United 0 Hornchurch 0

A tough game this, but a Bank Holiday clash against local rivals was always going to be so. A draw wasn't totally unexpected but it's a shame there were no goals to just give the encounter a bit more spice.

There were very few chances in the first half with both sides keeping things very tight but we came closest in the 15th minute when Scott Gooding went just wide with a low drive from 25 yards.

The second half was livelier with Ford having the clearer chances and us having the better possession. A couple of early chances came for us, Gary Abbott heading just over from a Mark Graham cross on 52 minutes and John Martin heading just wide from a Graham cross 4 minutes later. Then came Ford's chances. Ex-Urchin Bradley Allen shot across goal and wide from the corner of the area a couple of minutes later and Dean Chandler glanced a header just past the post just past the hour mark A brace of chances fell for Allen 10 minutes later, heading just wide from a Richard Halle cross and then having a shot blocked by Gay after he had got clear. The chances dried up after that and as the dying minutes ticked away it was clear that inspiration to conjure up a winning goal would not appear, and both sides seemed happy to hear the final whistle.

Line-up:- Gay, Gooding, Kerrigan, Adedeji, Williams, Southon, Graham, Abbott, John, Douglas (Brayley 87), J Martin. Subs not used:- Keeling, Dell, Rowland, McCartney (GK)

You Could See From The Peformance Today That The Players Were Quite Clearly Tired ! Half Of Them Could Just About Run !

A Game Last Tuesday, Last Thursday, Last Saturday And Today ! I Think The Players Have Done Brilliantly To Get A Few Good Results !

Maybe The F.A Should Think About This In The Future !

A well earned point, pity it was not three. Ford had the better chances and the pitch was pretty uneven, which does not suit our type of game.

Danny Gay was excellant as usual, I will be very surprised if he does not get player of the year.
