Windsor 1 Slough 4

Recommended Posts

You Slough fans are an odd bunch. If we beat you 4-1 we'd be singing none stop but you seemed to be in shock! Good game you deserved to win although the red cards made the game so un even. Good luck with the rest of the season. Stuff Worthing for us and get a few of their players sent off...you know like you did today.

Nearly 800 people is a great turn out but really apart from when you scored you were not as loud as you could of been.

When there is only about eight people singing it is a bit difficult but we gave it a go.

Fair play to your lads for trying to keep going, and fair play to Greenie playing to the Slough fans even when 4-1 down.

Why play long ball though when you have arguably the best central midfielder in the league in Carroll?

% of Slough fans singing behind the goal? About 10%. That's why it can be a lot louder, although to be fair, more people did join in and covering would be lovely at Stag Meadow, but I'm not holding my breath. That £25,000 will probably go on a target man next season!

That kind of thing is annoying people at Windsor. When you get your own ground then by all means build a roof all over the pitch if you want but beggars CANNOT be chosers.

I thought the net was done by Windsor fans? Let me look in the programme...oh yes it was. This is not touchy. I do not have that much of a problem with you but others do and they read stuff on the forums etc and you could find yourself playing on sunday league grounds next season if you carry on

Yeah right mate, would Windsor want to get rid of us, and pass up on the opportunity of £25,000 a season? Plus don't forget the bumper gate today of almost 800.

Look at your programme again.

The slough supporters and staff have been responsible for the assistance of one or two pieces of work around the ground, like repairs to the perimeter fence a new gate at the entranced to the referees changing area and getting the net put up behind the goal.

Unless you have £ 25,000 dont make promises you cant keep. (We could have gone to Harrow for less)

I hope this argument doesn't get nasty, because I feel WEFC and STFC have a good working relationship in this ground-share and lets not forget we are very thankful to them. But at £25k a season, we are paying a lot of money for it.

It would almost be quite interesting to find out what issues the people at Windsor do have with us so they could be actioned if required.

The issue surrounding covering has been going on all season and is merely a suggestion as a supporter on how the ground could be improved. Can't see the harm in that personally.

The important thing, as Paul has highlighted, is the Windsor board have appreciated the financial income from Slough fans in a number of sense and their relationship appears to be good.

The reason Windsor fans couldn't hear us was because the sound of laughter doesn't carry as well as singing!

Sometimes, being a football fan can be awful but occasionally, like today, it can be truly wonderful too.

It was your own programme notes today that were criticising your fans, not us.

To all Windsor fans who can read, which probably means just the one of you, it is a logical step forward for Stag Meadow to acquire covering behind the goals. It is not brain surgery. It is not snivelling Slough fans moaning about the fact we don't have our own stadium, we reserve our moaning about that for Rob Anderson and co. But does it really offend you if we as football supporters who travel to matches home and away and see lots of different stadiums, comment that Stag Meadow could benefit from having covering behind the goals? I think not.

As for the match today, I'm glad I can type this and not have to say it as my voice has well and truly gone down the toilet, but wasn't it just fantastic! Regardless of the Windsor fan saying we were quiet, I thought we gave a good account of ourselves as did the players, and the right team won on the day. We could have gone in at half time better than 2-0, but that really doesn't matter. We won and we won well. LEts keep winning and secure our place in the top 6
