Blues 1 Bognor 1

It was another one of those "how did we not win that?" type games. We had so many chances, particulary in the second half. Danny had two great chances don't understand how he didn't manage to score either of them. I thought we should of had that penalty, there was about three of their players with thier hands all over him, ridiculous decision by the ref.

We certainly looked much stronger when KK came on, why he didn't start in the first place is beyond me. I've seen Luke a few times now, every time I always say to myself that he will do well today, but he hasn't improved at all. He was the tallest man on the pitch today, and not once did he even try to win a header. Personally, I think Stowey is better than KK, as he looks more threatening infront of goal, I hope he starts on Monday.

We looked quite solid at the back, both Pat and Robin played well and Luke did well too, pulled off a great save in the first half.

In my opinion, I think Tomo was man of the match, he was superb. He never gave up and kept battling throughout.

So we are now three points away from 20th place, I think we need to win at least two out of our remaining four games, and get a draw as well. I think it is still possible but we need to keep our heads up and hopefully have luck on our side for once.

Up the Ricay!!!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

A much improved 2nd half performance from the team, unfortunately for us, Bognor's keeper matched us for performance and pulled of a few crucial saves, one of which was stunning.

It was just one of those half's that it didn't matter what we did, the ball wasn't going to go in the back of the net.

So....Canvey on Monday. Lets hope we can build on this performance and give 'em a game and pull those three points in the bag.

COME ON 'Ricay!!!!

I really enjoyed this game and in spells thought the footy produced was some of the best we have seen at new lodge this season.

The first half was fairly even and our equalising goal was a fine move. In the second half, although Bognor could point to two missed "sitters", I thought we dominated. We created any number of chances, their keeper made some top saves, and we even managed to hit the woodwork late on.

This result isn't good enough seeing as Hitchin won but the players were still applauded from the pitch by the loyal support, which proves that the fans respond to the team's effort and performance and not necessarily the result.

Clearly we have a very difficult game on Monday but stranger things have happened and I would sacrifice Blackie for the returning steel of Davidson and start with KK instead of Bauckham as we need the ball to stick up front.

Yesterdays team was

Weaver

Henty Trott Sappleton Taylor

Tomlinson Hunter Dormer Black

Bauckham (Opara) Hockton

snu: stowe, jones, reddington, aziz.

great game to watch, especially in the second half. i thought our second half performance merited a win but luck wasnt on our side i guess. at least we kept pace with hitchin, northwood and st albans who all drew, but games are running out fast.

i thought we had a good shout in the second half for a pen, but the ref, whod been picky all day, was a bit gutless in my opinion in not calling the foul. had it been outside the box ive no doubt he would have blown up.

hockers had several good chances, but didnt look great in front of goal. kk was impresiive when he came on, and i would like to have seen him on a little earlier as bauckhum was pretty unspectacular, despite his goal. tommo and black both had pretty good games imo, especially in the second half, and we created enough chances to get the second goal, just couldnt take them, and their keeps was in good form.

if anyone can shed any light on the free kick that led to the bognor goal id be grateful. im assuming it was given for a handball, but it seemed to me that the bognor player just smacked it against our defender.

was very impressed with the players attitude, and the support of the crowd, and the players showed the ability they have, as we played bognor off the park for large spells of the game.

we need a similar performance tomorrow, and we need as many fans down there, so lets all get off our arses and make the short trip down to pikyville.

come on you blues!

Loose faith? I will never loose faith, I'm Ricay 'till I die!!

I second that! Even if I'm in Norway, I'll never stop supporting the lads! Doesn't look like I'm able to come to the Final Whistle party this season, but there's always next season!!!

Finally, I'm online from home again, so I'll be able to follow 'Ricay more closer than the last 5 months!
