Who is this person that constantly slates Foster? Has this bloke ever watched football? And what good does he think he is doing by coming on here and slagging off one of his own players??Granted this is a fans forum and people are allowed their own opnions and I don`t want to start up that old argument again but please it is as if Foster can do no right. I just hope he doesn`t take any notice of someone that clearly has no idea what he is talking about

It would not surprise me if the players were advised to avoid reading this forum.

The fans are entitled to their opinions of players' performance and, fortunately, there is a certain amount of disagreement (or this forum would not be very interesting). However, after a match the negative comments posted here usually well out-number the positive and it would be easy for any player to be seriously dispirited knowing the views of the fans that week.

If Foster was that bad as a goalie, Slough would now have a sizeable negative goal difference, instead of the current +30 figure we enjoy.

So, if Alan F reads this forum I hope he realises that there is basically one poster who doesn't like anything Alan does, and a whole load more whose opinion will differ wildly from week to week depending on his most recent game.

People see what they want to see which is, quite often, clouded by preconceived opinions or in some cases a dislike of certain players.

I have never agreed with the general concensus that Boot is lazy and think he makes more positive runs than most. I also am, probably, over critical of Ryan Spencer who often, momentarily, gives up when he loses the ball.

I wasn't lucky enough to see Wilkerson for any prolonged period so can't really comment but all I know is Foster is far superior to DJ, McCann or Blake were last season. He doesn't drop half as many crosses as people make out he does and certainly for several games all I can remember is people saying "well done Fozzie" rather than anything else.

Each to their own.

It is strange that all behind the goal cant see Foster do wrong (Although they are as far away as possible) but all supporters down my side can (From a much closer angle) Strange that.....

As for anyone saying Steve Daly was poor, they must have never been to a football match before.

Ian, you say Spencer gives up after loseing a ball, what does Tont Boot do then? He will run towards a ball but never challenge for it, two paces away and he will stop, thats lazy!

Then again, who am i, i have only watched Slough for 12 years and if i dont agree with a few people on this forum i am always wrong.

As for changing my record, some people want to change their's over certain views!!!

Anyway, each to their own......

Perhaps the one comment that has not been made is the state of the pitch. Do Windsor own a roller? Can the grass be cut. I know its early spring and they want growth, but at least put a grade 9 over it to level it out.

Alcove today why dont you count the number of times a defender hoofs the ball out and it goes to an opponent, instead of playing it out to an Amber shirt!

This is non-lague football, if our players were to live up to some peoples expectations we would need Henry VanNistleroy and Owen Shearer up front!

Why?

Defenders hoof the ball out of the danger area to clear it, its got nothing to do with skill or ability.

The likes of Daly and Moller aren't going to do neat tricks and one twos when under pressure at the back are they? Especially against one of the best teams in the league

Its called a clearance Paul, every team do them and the aim isn't to find an Amber shirt, but to clear the ball.

If you really believe that then you should be watching Sunday league football. The essence of football is possession. You cant score a goal without possession, and you cant concede a goal in possession (allowing for 1 in 10,000 freaks)

You may have noticed our substitute goalkeeper routinely looked for an outlet other than booting the ball upfield to what is at best a 50:50 jump against a defender,

Good defenders play the ball out of defense to their own players, albeit with the occasional hoof to touch when outnumbered during an opposition break. Bad defenders hoof the ball anywhere, allowing the opposition (who have the edge because they are facing the ball) to regain possession, which immediately causes pressure. Pressure causes mistakes - mistakes concede goals.

Radders where did I say anything about Daly hoofing the ball out of play. On a different thread i said Daly had a poor game on Saturday 'cause his distribution was poor. Aboove I said that occasionally a defender (no name) has to hoof a ball out of play when outnumbered.

What I said was that at this standard of play we dont expect defenders simply to hoof the ball downfield to an opponent. We expect them to aim for if not find a Slough shirt.

I was counting today and there was not one occasion when Daly simply hoofed it. Every time he looked for a player - though not every time did he find one. Today he was tremendouus.
