Clarke to leave ETFC

Recommended Posts

Just compare ETFC's form before and during the return of clarke.

yeah we have gone down hill since.....

Now compare Billy Cove's goal scoring record before and during the return of DC. yip if DC doesn't play BC scores

so Jim get rid of Clarkie we really do not need him.

Admittedly,at the moment Clarky doesn't warrant a spot up front on current form........But that dosn't mean he wasn't a great goalscorer in the past,or that he won't be again in the future.

Just because he's not fitting in to our current style of play,or hitting it off with our other strikers at present, dosn't mean he not a great goalscorer.......I certainly wouldn't want him playing for a arrival team,in the same league as us.

Don't agree with the majority of you on this thread. The stats might not show it yet, but Clarkey has been a much better team player for the Town since his return from Ilford than in previous seasons. Don't forget that he is still young.

Time to get off his back (metamaphorically) and cheer him and the rest of the team on.

Looking forward to Southend tomorrow!! Just hope Concord slip up.

Promotion has got to be a long-shot at the moment. We dropped too many points earlier in the season losing to basildon and romford at home and drawing with ilford and concord.

Look what happened when we let clarkey go, he came back with ilford and scored the equaliser robbing us of points. Maybe he doesn't gel with Smith & Cove but I don't think they're strong enough on their own to lead the attack. Clarkey has been very unlucky. Against brentford he could have had a hat-trick in the first half were it not for some awful bobbles just as he shot. How about hanging on to Clarkey until we get in someone better who can link up well with the others?

playing to OUR stregths should be the way forward no matter who we think should be in the team at any time.Leave it up to Jim.

Well said. Can't you lot just get behind the Team. I know everyone is entitled to their opionions & yes thats what this Forum is for, but its not very good for Team Morale when players can see how much slagging off goes on.

Lets be a bit more Positive & Yes let Jim & Coaches pick the Team.

i agree with u SL.

what happened when billy wasnt doing too well? everybody got behind him and look at the last couple of games he's played. why dont u all do the same for danny and get behind him and support him? how do u think he'll feel about this team which is run by the supporters if this is what they say about him?!how would all this crap help him? it would make him feel worse, bet he feels bad anyway for not doing as well as people expect.none of this is going to motovate anyone to play football, never mind score!maybe other people should give him more of a chance, hence the word 'team'. u couldnt play a match with just one man. for a real game you have 11. maybe he needs more support and help from the other 10.theres more to the game than every player getting the goals the so called "supporters" say they should!

Plenty of room for all 3. Clarke and Cove leading the line with Smith behind the front two. A recipe for plenty of goals once they get to know each others' game.

I still firmly believe that Clarke is a big asset to the Town. He has had NO luck in front of goal recently - and that will change sooner rather than later. He is working hard for the team and will earn his reward in goals soon.

well said Junior.

I too get fed up with the carping at players who have proved trhere worth time and again.

Billy seems to be doing the biz again and from what I hear Clarkey is just not having a lot of luck.

Jim-would you be able to offer something on the stats front (pre/post Daniel's return), please.

I suspect that the truth is in the comment that too many points were dropped at the beginning of the season.

Barkingside weren't very good either, and Matty's back. A good performance up front can't just be laid at the door of the cup tied player!

Clarke is playing more for the team than himself, some of the balls he has put across for others deserved a better reward buts thats football, far easier from the fans side of the fence than the players.

We are supposed to be Enfield Town SUPPORTERS so SUPPORT the TOWN!!!

So, what is it then, are we not allowed to make any comment on the performance(s) of the team or players other to than to say how wonderful they are? Even if they are demonstrably not playing well?

Come off it, this is football, of course supporters are going to voice their opinions, on the terraces, in the pub, at work and on the forum, and so they should.

Obviously vindictive, personal or sustained attacks on individuals are out of order, but what can be wrong about pointing out that a striker has only scored two goals (both against weak teams) in several months?
